Escort Mk1 4 Door Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 i got 2,8 vented brakes on the front, will be fitting seirra rear calipers with 405 pug disks
mk2 mike Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 Will be watching this post with interest as I need to do mine as well. Ive currently got capri 2.8i vented discs and calipers and 9inch RS drums on the rear. What do you currently have Gary?
frankthefencer Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 Hi spec 6 pots on the front Hi spec rears with hydra mech handbrake . Stops on a penny !!!!!!
johnnyspencer Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 standard disks on front, standard drums on rear, no servo! not driven it yet so say a prayer for me in advance!
theloudboy Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 I got wilwoods on my mex I had heard bad things about but they stop the car fine, I was gonna got APs but now don't see the point getting them.
SmokeEm Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 Gary, as you are running a V8, one would assume you are already upgraded? Surely U just need to get as many pots per caliper as U can get with your current wheel size? AP, Willwood etc seem to be the trusted brands? Also HiSpec?
alltheoldohyeah Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 Hi-specs 4pot on the front drums in the back on my Anglia. 13 inch wheels with 3mm spacer
Admin Vista Posted June 12, 2013 Admin Report Posted June 12, 2013 310 mm vented discs on the front with Willwood 4 pots (15" rims required) and Cosworth calipers on the rear on mk3 (I think) fiesta solid front discs.

RossMK2 Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 standard ghia/sport setup with green stuff pads
mex255l Posted June 13, 2013 Report Posted June 13, 2013 Cross drill vented disks and m16's on the rear and skyline calipers and 300mm vented on the front.
Skimmer Posted June 13, 2013 Report Posted June 13, 2013 Willwood 4 pots with drilled n vented discs...(13'' wheels) , not really impressed with the brakeing performance and seemed a bugger to bleed took many goes to bleed up , Princess 4 pots seemed to work better ......just my opinion .
Terence Posted June 13, 2013 Report Posted June 13, 2013 280mm Drilled vented with Nissan 300zx Alloy four pots by Sumitomo, haven't used them as yet, cars not finished, but they will be more than enough as I have rear discs as well. Mk 2 Capri running 15" Wheels
EscortDan Posted June 13, 2013 Report Posted June 13, 2013 Another one for 310mm and willwood 4 pots up front, it is a real tight squeeze with the 15" wheels but will hopefully do the trick! Will run a rear disc conversion once the axle is sorted.
2litreScapri Posted June 13, 2013 Report Posted June 13, 2013 Grooved discs & sport pads upfront on the Capri, but it's hardly a power upgrade. My old Fiesta RS Turbo had Wilwood 4 pots, & they were excellent (when I needed them! 130-70 very very quickly!)
MK2Ed Posted June 13, 2013 Report Posted June 13, 2013 RS rear drums (standard), Wilwood 4 pots, vented discs, race pads, racing dot5.1 fluid in a pair of reservoirs, bias pedal box - more than competent, will stand it on it's nose when needed
katana Posted June 13, 2013 Report Posted June 13, 2013 Cross drill vented disks and m16's on the rear and skyline calipers and 300mm vented on the front. How's that work then? Assuming this is a road car needing a mechanical handbrake?
popeye Posted June 13, 2013 Author Report Posted June 13, 2013 this is my set up.. ok . but i'am out and about a lot more now, and i do tend to brake late ! ( me thinks that may be age ) they work fine... but i do like the new 6 pot from Hi-Spec... not to happy with the £960 price tag !! Don't what to change to a bigger rim...I like 13"
Terence Posted June 13, 2013 Report Posted June 13, 2013 Little bit different to my set then! £50 for the old stock/new discs & £80 for the refurbished callipers.
