SmokeEm Posted June 29, 2013 Report Posted June 29, 2013 I have fitted a remote control kit to the central locking on my Granada. Was simple enough but as usual it took longer than expected. Struggled like fook to get the door card back on coz of 1 poxy screw! But hey ho, one button lock/unlock now on & working and the kit was under £20 off eBay. Also fitted my new valve caps on the wheels (check them out at retro show) MrsSmokeEm is currently outside now washing/polishing her ready for next weekend She thinks I'm inside prepping the food for the BBQ tonight.... Butcher done it 1

livewire7116 Posted June 29, 2013 Report Posted June 29, 2013 i opened the garage door to let its ass end get some sunlight then closed it again! 1
SmokeEm Posted June 29, 2013 Author Report Posted June 29, 2013 I'm just gonna pop outside now and fit some of those new fangled aero flat wiper blades coz my mate said they were ace.. Hope so coz the ones on it now are shite
emu Posted June 29, 2013 Report Posted June 29, 2013 Went out for a little pointless drive up the A32 to farnham and back. Then blew a back tyre in the outside lane of the M27. All good fun
gearbox100 Posted June 29, 2013 Report Posted June 29, 2013 i caught a glimpse of mine out of the corner of my eye , sat looking unloved in the back of the garage .
BIG G Posted June 29, 2013 Report Posted June 29, 2013 Put on a new speedo cable and put my battery optimiser on as im out for a play in the morning

Tom E Cropp Posted June 29, 2013 Report Posted June 29, 2013 Cleaned the mk1 up after its Le Mans trip and cleaned the engine bay after its fire !!! Love that little blue car .......,, Fire!?? I fitted the carb linkage, and a few other bits on the escort
SmokeEm Posted June 29, 2013 Author Report Posted June 29, 2013 Yeah Frank, what fire? I know about the oil pipe split but fire?????
frankthefencer Posted June 29, 2013 Report Posted June 29, 2013 The oil pipe from the block to the dash split when in a traffic jam about 160 miles from Calais on the way home. Sprayed oil over the hot exhaust manifold and the next thing I was on fire!!! Luckily caught it fast and put it out. No real damage done and got her home.
Kevin Mk2 Posted June 29, 2013 Report Posted June 29, 2013 Replacement strut top bushing finally arrived yesterday, so today I've painted the struts, spring cups and strut tops bushings. Then reassembled everything with new -1" springs, ready to go back in when I can be arsed.
roffy Posted June 29, 2013 Report Posted June 29, 2013 striped the dash out on my corsair and started takeing engine out to get the shell blasted 1
NeilT Posted June 29, 2013 Report Posted June 29, 2013 fitted an omex rev limiter gotta set it up tomorrow
pccapri Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 nothing today. But tomorrow I will be finishing cleaning the heads and refitting the valves and rockers. Then hopefully they will be ready to be bolted back to the block!!!!
XjamesX Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 put a new gear knob on the 100e. Not very exciting I know! Ha ha
Kevin Mk2 Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Renewed the gaskets for the oil and fuel pumps. The one on the fuel pump was made up of some kind of crappy cardboard stuff sandwiched between two rubber gaskets.. was an absolute 'mare to get it all off.
dacar Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Drove mine to the Ford Enthusiasts day at Kames Track and parked with loads of others
MK2Ed Posted July 1, 2013 Report Posted July 1, 2013 Removed the front section of my 6 point cage, then climbed in leaning on the non-existent door bar and fell spectacularly sideways into the seat - pmsl. The rear hoop wil stay, done a few cosmetics and washed her all ready for Retro Show.. Forgot how heavy a front cage is - region of 15kg I reckon.
SmokeEm Posted July 1, 2013 Author Report Posted July 1, 2013 Mine is all polished up now & covered for the weekend The temptation to go out for a blast yesterday was overwhelming!
Kevin Mk2 Posted July 1, 2013 Report Posted July 1, 2013 Refitted the flywheel, clutch and gearbox back into the van. The gearbox was a bugger because I couldn't get anyone free to give me a hand, so ended up doing it by myself. (Something I'll remember next time one of their cars need something done. ) For reasons I don't quite understand, I thought it would be a good idea to do the job on the ground outside my garage. It took three trolley jacks to get everything aligned, two for the gearbox and one for the engine, lots of swearing, and around a million midges spurring me on to get the bloody thing finished. But it's in.. thank f**k!
johnnyspencer Posted July 1, 2013 Report Posted July 1, 2013 struggled to fit the carpet and seats but failed miserably
