I have fitted a remote control kit to the central locking on my Granada. Was simple enough but as usual it took longer than expected. Struggled like fook to get the door card back on coz of 1 poxy screw!

But hey ho, one button lock/unlock now on & working and the kit was under £20 off eBay.

Also fitted my new valve caps on the wheels 8) (check them out at retro show)

MrsSmokeEm is currently outside now washing/polishing her ready for next weekend

She thinks I'm inside prepping the food for the BBQ tonight.... Butcher done it

Went out for a little pointless drive up the A32 to farnham and back. Then blew a back tyre in the outside lane of the M27. All good fun :-)

Cleaned the mk1 up after its Le Mans trip and cleaned the engine bay after its fire !!! Love that little blue car .......,,

I fitted the carb linkage, and a few other bits on the escort :)

The oil pipe from the block to the dash split when in a traffic jam about 160 miles from Calais on the way home. Sprayed oil over the hot exhaust manifold and the next thing I was on fire!!! Luckily caught it fast and put it out. No real damage done and got her home.

Replacement strut top bushing finally arrived yesterday, so today I've painted the struts, spring cups and strut tops bushings.  Then reassembled everything with new -1" springs, ready to go back in when I can be arsed.

nothing today. But tomorrow I will be finishing cleaning the heads and refitting the valves and rockers. Then hopefully they will be ready to be bolted back to the block!!!!

Renewed the gaskets for the oil and fuel pumps.  The one on the fuel pump was made up of some kind of crappy cardboard stuff sandwiched between two rubber gaskets.. was an absolute 'mare to get it all off.

Removed the front section of my 6 point cage, then climbed in leaning on the non-existent door bar and fell spectacularly sideways into the seat - pmsl.

The rear hoop wil stay, done a few cosmetics and washed her all ready for Retro Show..

Forgot how heavy a front cage is - region of 15kg I reckon.

Refitted the flywheel, clutch and gearbox back into the van.  The gearbox was a bugger because I couldn't get anyone free to give me a hand, so ended up doing it by myself.  (Something I'll remember next time one of their cars need something done.  :suck::D )

For reasons I don't quite understand, I thought it would be a good idea to do the job on the ground outside my garage.  It took three trolley jacks to get everything aligned, two for the gearbox and one for the engine, lots of swearing, and around a million midges spurring me on to get the bloody thing finished.  But it's in.. thank f**k!
