Hallo all Ford lovers

 

Just want to warn you about the company Classic Trim ( telephone 00441268415166)

I placed my order in May 2014 on a set of Contour seats, rear seat cover, door cards front, side/door cards rear, kickpanels, and a carpet for my Escort MK1. I payed with my mastercard 1750GBP.

 

 

The company was very nice and answered emais and calls very quickly in the beginning( before the payment was made...) but after that, there were almost silence. Then almost no reply from Classic Trim.

When I called them in mid May, a Voice mail was telling " We are currently on a few days training course"

The Voice mail was still the same at the end of May.. :(

 

Then in start of June I was surprised, when recieving a tracking number from the company. But this was just another lie. The tarcking number was a fake and still no parts recieved in June.

 

Then I made some calls getting a new Voice Mail " We are on vacation until...".

 

In late July i got my seats and the door cards plus the rear side cards. Seats were badly made, Door cards had to be modyfied, rear side cards were made of 6mm glassfiber and impossible to fit into the 3mm fitting rail. The rear seat covers was about 10% oversize an badly made. The carpet, kickpanels , headrests was still not recieved yet

 

Then more mails and calls made to the campany complaning on the missing parts, the bad quality and missing service. Then a new version of the Voice Mail.." We are on vacation until the 17. of august"

When my Mails were not answered on 19 of august i made another phone call and getting the same reply.." We are on vacation until the 17. of august"

 

Then on the the 21 of August the phone was aswered. I was surprised;) On the 23 of August i finally recieved the rest of my order. Another sad experience. The carpet was not as ordered for a Left hand drive car but for a RHD car

 

The Voice Mail was now changed to some tragic respond and informed that the company was closed until the 8 of September because of the tragic reasons.

 

Now on the 13. sep the Voice mail is still the same...

 

After 4 months of waiting, calling, mailing I am left with parts that are useless. So Ford and Mini lovers..Dont go there

I am very sorry to read that. It is far from the fist complaint we've read on these pages about Classic Trim.

 

If you paid via a credit card do you have any recourse with them? In the UK payments made by credit card make the credit card provider jointly liable for non provision of goods or supply of faulty goods.

Thank you tor the comment. Sadly I do not hink I will get any refound from Master card or                                                      Classic Trim  :shot: , as most parts( but useless parts) are recieved

Don't you believe it re Mastercard. If the parts supplied are faulty / not fir for purpose you would definitely have a case for a refund from Mastercard (providing it's a credit card) if you were in the UK, under section 75 of the consumer credit act. Your own country may well have something similar.

I had a similar experience with them, I purchased a pair of contour seats but they never arrived, I was told after about 5 weeks that they were sent out to the wrong person?? Luckily I paid through paypal so I got my money back.   :(:

Plus if their bank get a few claims they'll likely get their facility for taking card payments removed.

Im in Austraia and even I have heard of this mob and to steer clear!

A good friend of mine sent some roll tops to them and was told 2 weeks..... 6 months later he got them!! Called them many times and was given lots of excuses, even said they had been dispatched but to wrong address and they were waiting for them to be returned etc!!

My mate drove to them in the end and gave them a bit of an ultimatum.. He got his seats but was sick of it :-(

sorry to hear about the trouble you have had,if you google 'classic trim upminster' you can leave a review telling of your dissatisfaction with their service,it may help others to avoid them in future.

Had been looking at them aswell, needing to get a set of fishnet recaros done.

 

can anyone suggest a decent company to use.....have looked at Aldridge for there seat covers but needs sponge replacing aswell......is there anyone in Scotland that any body has used?

Aldridge are vehicle upholsterers - if they can't do it .....no one can. Very well regarded IMO.

They'll get my business for seat covers but i've got a local trimmer lined up as and when.

I've noticed some full page ads from them in recent editions of Classic Ford Mag offering

To finish off your car resto etc...Just hope no one else gets scammed. Not the first bad story I've heard about them

Had a similar experience with them too. ordered a carpet for the escort and after 5 weeks there was no sign of it. So Rang & rang with no answer. Luckily I had paid via PayPal and opened a dispute and got my money back.

The strangest thing was when I opened the dispute a guy at the company contacted me trying to con me to cancel the dispute because the carpet had been sent out a few days before and would be with me very soon... suffice to say it never came.

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!

Hi, The same is happening now to me, Dave Verney has taken £1500 from me for some seats on the 17th July, Still no seats, Will not pick up the phone call, texts nor Emails.

 

Place the seats on Ebay but when we asked him about them he said he could do a better off Ebay, He later called for the payment and now nothing, 

 

If this has happened to you please report to action fraud and see if we together can stop him !!!!!!!

It never ceases to amaze me that in the days of Internet forums, Retards Club and Twitter, there are still companies out there that offer such poor customer service yet continue to get away with ripping off new people.

i'm having trouble with them at the moment as there's no communication and he's got a hefty amount of money from me but how can i resolve it?

 

How did you pay? If credit card get on to your credit card provider...

i dont understand how he gets away with it, i have contacted classicford because surely this is bad press for them. its under their trust and good faith people use him. surely if he's such an arsehole he should be shut down for trading. I'm lucky i'll get my money back but what about other people?
