Anyone ordered Pinto Pulleys through Turbosport?

I dont mean to start another gripe thread or anything but wondering if anyone has order any pulleys for their Pinto Engine through Turbosport? (Unrelated to the forum of the same name)

 

I ordered a few pulleys over two months ago and emailed the details because I needed them hard anodised and there were 2 different prices on their website and didnt hear anything back from them regarding the order. When I chased them they said they didnt take paypal fees are too high, and thats fair enough I totally get that they just needed to say something and would have accommodated alternate payment. So place the order again this time with my Visa card details I half emailed and half sms the number. Again nothing. A month or so later I get a message do I still want the pulleys and I replied yes and attaching a copy of my order and special requirements. Again nothing. I send a couple of emails asking if the order is accepted making it clear I wasnt in a great hurry but just knowing if they were proceeding as the deposit had not been taken out of my account. But again nothing. Then I get an email again was I still after the pulleys and I replied yes you have my order are they preceding with it? I get cryptic one line reponse pulleys are all on stock. So I write back does that mean they are about supply my order,  or does that mean my original order is cancelled do they want me to send it through again. the response They are all in stock order through the website. So I just came full circle and Im basically back exactly where I started a few months ago. I have never seen a business operate like this before. Most at least take your money and keep you hanging, this lot cant even be bothered to take your money and wont ever give more than a unrelated one line response when you actually get one, its really really strange.

 

I really like the look of their grey hard anodised pulleys but getting them is proving the most frustrating process, does anyone maybe know someone high up in the company I can maybe phone (Even though Im in Australia) and try get some answers that way. I understand some people are not very communicative through the email medium and certainly the email thing hasnt worked for ordering thus far. Its just getting a bit frustrated Im ready to give up on the whole idea. Any ideas?

I wouldn't bother with them and look at the Harris pulley sets they also do a grey set that looks really good, you also get a discount for being a OSF member.

 

Im sure they wont mess you around like Turbosport,

Thanks for your reply. Yes I did look into the Harris ones but they never replied to my messages at all. There was also some doubt whether they had yet to produce a production Vernier and an Aux Shaft pulley as well. As far as I could tell only Turbosport had production going of them. I will try emailing them again though but already tried several times so not sure if I will have better luck there either.

Re Turbosport, surprising as it may seem in the digital age, lots of smaller businesses over here still aren't very well set up for dealing with online enquiries. I'm sure I remember a very similar thread about them on Turbosport (The forum).

Yes it was through here that I originally saw the pulleys from Harris Engineering and emailed Jeff and he was kind to direct me to James' email address but havent had any replies from him unfortunately. Thats when I embarked on the Turbosport ones. Yes the online ordering site for Turbosport was a bit of a muddle which I do understand its not always working as it should for smaller firms. There were conflicting prices depending which menu you went through hence my emailing my order through to which they asked me to email half my Visa details and text to them the other half. They definitely got the order and details but did nothing with it and then both emailed me and sms me if i still wanted to pulleys every month or so after ordering. Ive said yes a couple of times and now the last message from them was they are in stock order through the website, which was back where I had started several months ago. They were very evasive when I asked them specifics about my order so I may just put it all on the back burner. It really was the strangest purchase I have ever tried to make, it was like they werent really interested but when they had a slow week they would email me and ask me if i still wanted them, after several times of this its gotten a bit beyond. Always plenty of other things the car still needs so will leave it till next year and try again possibly. Thanks guys

ive bought from turbo sport but I only live 30 min from him . its a small business at his house . the products are good . I dealt with him on the phone and went to his house to collect . all I can say he was accommodating and did me a good deal . harris hpe products are well known here and look top notch . wouldn't mind a engine lol . good luck
