I like the second picture too, although I think the round headlights on the original car look cool. So maybe on reflection, picture 2 with round headlights :)

Cool colour too.

I love the 3rd picture. Slammed and de-bumpered, looks ace!!

I can't leave anything anywhere near original for long though!!!!!!!

Yes I no what you mean but can you de bumper them on the road is that legal ?

Hmmmmmm, good point.

Seen plenty done, but not sure how Mr MOT tester would view it. Would they even notice??

Can't imagine a Mk2 front bumper would offer a pedestrian much impact protection anyway!!!

No bumper is fine as long as it doesn't leave any sharp edges that would injure a pedestrian in a collision. What that car (in the third pic) WILL fail on is front indicators. Or lack of them, unless they're hidden behind the grille.

Good point to I wouldn't want a crack round the head with one of those bumpers lol .

I agree 2nd picture has the best look, retaining the bumpers and side trims.  As mentioned the 3rd pic one will fail it's MOT for no indicators and that soppy little number plate. Also if you over mod (like the 3rd picture) it will be worth less if you decide to sell.

Hi thanks for your input much appreciated defo second picture for me as I want it to stay as original as I can but still with a sparkle if you no what I mean , I just sold my wrx sti impreza to buy one as I think as well as always wanting one for years it will be a good investment too so I won't be selling for a long time if ever lol just need to keep on top of the rust thing lol . Wanted this one as the interior is in good condition and there hard to find one with original interior as it is , it's just gone on the top of the back seat with sun damage as they do but everything else is good .

I just saw your pictures on the other thread you started the interior looks good, chocolate houndstooth.  Yeah the sun always gets the material, I cover the back seat with a sheet when out in sunlight, it's also well worth getting a sun shade for the front screen it'll protect the seats and stop the dash top cracking.

I always fancied a Terracotta MK2 but never managed to own one

Terracotta was one of the last new colours released on the MKII Escort it was also available on the RS2000.  As with all reds it fades but S C O O B Y's looks like it will polish up well. I had a MKI Fiesta 1100L in that colour in 1996.
