Danny Tattersall Posted May 18, 2015 Report Posted May 18, 2015 Hi to all, I have just joined the forum and want to introduce myself. Like most of you on here I am a true 'petrol head' and have owned some very rare and interesting cars previously. For the last 2 1/2 years I have owned a modified 1975 Mk1 2 door Escort, but unfortunately I haven't been able to drive it much or bring it up to the standard I expect of my cars due too being to busy renovating my house and work commitments. This is starting to draw to a close now though so I'm hoping that I'll be able to spend more time enjoying my cars. I don't know how to paste the entire specification of my car into this post but briefly it has a Sierra Cosworth 200 long stud block tuned to 550 BHP (620 BHP with nitrous), four wheel drive, AP Racing brakes, Quaife gearset and front and rear Quaife limited slip differentials.
dalmarshall Posted May 18, 2015 Report Posted May 18, 2015 550bhp in an escort......sounds a bit nippy!!!! Welcome to OSF...Look forward to seeing this progress
Danny Tattersall Posted May 18, 2015 Author Report Posted May 18, 2015 Thank you for the welcomes so far. Of all the cars that I've ever bought this one is the one I was the most excited about due to how unique it is. Whereas most cars you can just buy (if you've got the money), this one was one that I just had to have. The specification is so extreme that it is more 'pub bragging rights' material than practical in the real world as it isn't possible to use all the available power in such a light shell. If somebody can advise me how to do it I'll post the full specification, but as an example how mad it is it has four Bosch 044 high pressure fuel pumps plumbed into the Pro Alloy baffled fuel tanks and swirl pot!
SmokeEm Posted May 19, 2015 Report Posted May 19, 2015 Welcome. 550bhp is nothing new to OSF so you'll feel most welcome. Looks a right handful
luckyjim Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 hi there dan and welcome to osf. that's a wicked escort.
