Im after something with abit of burble, something that pops and farts when you down gear but above all im after something of a quality build that will last.

The twin box system still sounds great but you can live with it on a run The more i think about it, i do want something i can live with

But what are Janspeed exhausts like now days as they are only the same company by name now

Agreed, I have stainless exhausts on all three cars. The 2 1/4" one on the RS has been on it at least 10 years and still looks new. The one on the Alfa even longer 1

2litreScapri Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 I currently have a Sportex manifold & 3" full system. Has been said on more than one occasion mine sounds like a 3 litre. Only engine tweaks to mine is a lightly skimmed head due to engine rebuild but pretty much standard

I've got a standard 2.0ltr pinto with an Ashtons 4 into 1 manifold with a 2" stainless straight through..sounds nice with increased performance. Only go bigger if you're upgrading to a 2.1...

bigglesmk2 Posted July 8, 2015 Author Report Posted July 8, 2015 Ok... One more thing.... I can buy a LH or RH exhaust system, obviously it's left hand or right hand but what's it referring to? left hand drive/ left hand exit/ mounted from the left hand side of the engine? Or am i just being dumb

If you stand in front of the car looking into the bay with a pinto engine, the exhaust is on the left But is the the exhaust system classed as left hand from the front looking in the bay or a right hand system from sitting inside of the car looking out ?

It's not the exhaust that makes the engine pop and fart , just advance the dizzy if that's all your after, the car will only sound as good as the engine, for a good sound get a nice stainless janspeed and play with the dizzy until it pops when you change down,trouble is its not meant to do that if it's set right on a rolling road ,that's why they change jets
