Admin Vista Posted September 21, 2015 Admin Report Posted September 21, 2015 That'll look cool with steelies on it someone thought..... 2
zetecmk2 Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 for that reason, i'm having a transit on the side of my transit........it will be a mk1 though!!! 1
colr6 Posted October 4, 2015 Report Posted October 4, 2015 Some cars are better suited to steels than alloys, lotus cortina mk1 for instance
SmokeEm Posted October 5, 2015 Report Posted October 5, 2015 Personally, I love steelies. Would love to see an OSF on some 17" smoothies *runs n hides*
Sultzi Posted October 5, 2015 Report Posted October 5, 2015 Had 16" steelies with original steel caps on my w123 merc, they were spot on. 8,5" wide in front and 11" rear. Ok, not osf, but old school anyway 1
theloudboy Posted October 5, 2015 Report Posted October 5, 2015 Ya I'm sure each to there own I don't like them
Admin Vista Posted October 5, 2015 Author Admin Report Posted October 5, 2015 So nobody has noticed that the steely shod Ferrari is actually painted on to the side of the DHL van then? Or have you all noticed and are refusing to bite
mk2 mike Posted October 5, 2015 Report Posted October 5, 2015 Personally I prefer steels to most of the alloys available for OSFs. IMO alloys should only be RS or revolutions (or their later JBW copies). Edit: Alleycats are cool too.

colr6 Posted October 5, 2015 Report Posted October 5, 2015 Revos or minilites for me, as far as ally cat go nice wheel have you tried keeping them clean!

I also think most period alloy wheels have stood the test of time well, with the exception perhaps of slotmags. Once the wheel of choice for almost everything, but now? My particular favourite are ATS Classics but not commonly seen on Fords over here
mk2 mike Posted October 5, 2015 Report Posted October 5, 2015 Revos or minilites for me, as far as ally cat go nice wheel have you tried keeping them clean! I cleaned mine once, then sold them
dalmarshall Posted October 5, 2015 Report Posted October 5, 2015 I'd love a set of steels Lotus steels look great on all osf's
khanlad Posted October 5, 2015 Report Posted October 5, 2015 Deep dish rostyles are superb, but have you seen the prices of them? A set went for over 500 quid a while back on ebay. Plus i think they would have to be 7×13 to look right?
SmokeEm Posted October 5, 2015 Report Posted October 5, 2015 Lotus steels look the nuts on ANYTHING. That's it, that's the challenge! Find a car with Lotus steelies on that just doesn't look right! The challenge is set, bring it on 1

SmokeEm Posted October 6, 2015 Report Posted October 6, 2015 What's my prize? Naughty step for you. Still looks cool to me!
Admin Vista Posted October 6, 2015 Author Admin Report Posted October 6, 2015 Mk1 RS2000's don't look right on Lotus Steels to me. They look best on mk1 RS4 spokes.
