SmokeEm Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 Well, where do we start on my new weekend toy.... I mentioned to Scott a week or two ago that I was looking at buying a early 2000's W210 Mercedes to effortlessly cruise to & from the Pod etc in and the conversation went something like this.... Vista.. 'You don't want one of them!' Why says I, 'Had a couple from new and they were terrible' he says.. What YOU need he says is an older one, like a W140 he says, bullet proof they are says he, reliable and over engineered too.. last of the hand built blah blah blah etc. So, I start the search for a nice small engined W140 to get sensible MPG me thinks..... Here is what I have bought! It's all Scott's fault! Jo's too - shouldn't leave me all alone in this country whilst they sun it up abroad! Ermm, my new economical run around.. W140, CL500 AMG - 5.0l V8, 326bhp, 362lbft torques. Single digit mpg! What have I done!!!!! 1
PeteRS8084 Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 What have you done! Enjoy your pimp Mobil :-;

You better get used to that view though....it'll be spending a lot of time there
PeteRS8084 Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 I did not want to say that dal, you read my mind!
SmokeEm Posted September 28, 2015 Author Report Posted September 28, 2015 PMSL @ you two! You are however, quite correct. Couple the fact of a woefully wishful mpg figure of 15 along with the fact that i don't 'Actually' need a car and you come up with a top trump when it comes to garden ornaments!
khanlad Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 Well that looks remarkably economical and practical? NOT!!!
SmokeEm Posted September 28, 2015 Author Report Posted September 28, 2015 Well that looks remarkably economical and practical? NOT!!! Funny that, MrsSmokeEm said something along the same lines....
SmokeEm Posted September 28, 2015 Author Report Posted September 28, 2015 My heavily pregnant daughter also expressed her disappointment in Dad's choice of family hack. She was muttering something about it being 2 door and how hard it would be for her getting in and out. She didn't see the funny side of my reply 'Well once you're in, ill get you wherever quickly and in supreme comfort' 1
PeteRS8084 Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 I can nearly see the flea bay advert in 2 months time.......something like. " For sail, my lovely gangsta Mercedes. Bought on a whim only 2 months agoa as I always wanted one. Only one previous careful owner - mad frankie frazer - used as his own private vehicle, and fully valeted prior to purchase, so no blood or guts anywere. You will need shares in BP as she is a bit thirsty, like it's owner! Have to sel as my sensible wife and heavily pregnant daughter reckon it's not a practical family car - go figure -. Hope it never brakes down as I have nearly paid of my mortgage! I now need a more family orientated car, that's sensible and reliable. I am willing to do a straight swap with a US spec 2015 or 2014 VW diesel only. Thanks for looking, go on treat yourself" You have my authority to pinch this ad as it's not copyrighted - and I put in some spelling and grammar errors as I know you love them! 1
SmokeEm Posted September 28, 2015 Author Report Posted September 28, 2015 Great service you provide Pete, will save me loads of time I'll only need to change the words to 'Swap for something equally stupid and impractical because I am a total oaf' I'll let you all mock my stupidity freely as I'll be the one laughing when our government cancel all fuel duty like is bound to happen soon...
colr6 Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 From the couple of meetings I have had with you,....you came across as a sensible level headed sort of chap....well as the saying goes never judge a book by its cover....need I say more. From one NUTTER to another haha 1
PeteRS8084 Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 In your dreams................ I think the mocking has just begun, wait until osf contributors get home..........get your flack jacket and tin lid on! I reckon you have got thick skin, keep smiling! 1

colr6 Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 Leave the poor man alone, don't you think he will suffer enough every time he looks out the window! Suppose he will get some new friends,petrol station attendants 2
PeteRS8084 Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 And mechanics, and local hoods! 1
SmokeEm Posted September 28, 2015 Author Report Posted September 28, 2015 Local hoods? I'm just hanging with my homies blood... See? Innit? I is up with the times 1
SmokeEm Posted September 28, 2015 Author Report Posted September 28, 2015 I deny EVERYTHING! Oh no you don't! This is ALL YOUR bloody fault! Get a W140 you said!
SmokeEm Posted September 28, 2015 Author Report Posted September 28, 2015 To be fair to him, I can't disagree, It's beautiful to look at, much more so than the newer shape
colr6 Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 Might look a bit better if you got rid of the dustbin lid wheels
