SmokeEm Posted September 28, 2015 Author Report Posted September 28, 2015 You mean my 18" AMG monobloc's? Err, No, they are staying until I can afford some 22" chrome blingy's from the U S Of A
colr6 Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 You don't mean those things that keep spinning when you've stopped do you
Admin Vista Posted September 28, 2015 Admin Report Posted September 28, 2015 Oh no you don't! This is ALL YOUR bloody fault! Get a W140 you said! Actually, I recall the recommendation being a 500SEC? Something like below but hey, whatever works for you! 1
colr6 Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 Moving the goalposts eh vista now you've seen the general opinion
Admin Vista Posted September 28, 2015 Admin Report Posted September 28, 2015 Moving the goalposts eh vista now you've seen the general opinion You can't argue with the figures: CL500 AMG - 5.0l V8, 326bhp, 362lbft torques. I bet he's having a whale of a time and these cars are so well equipped and stupidly cheap for what you get!
SmokeEm Posted September 28, 2015 Author Report Posted September 28, 2015 Actually, I recall the recommendation being a 500SEC? Something like below but hey, whatever works for you! You did indeed but when I said I couldn't afford one of them, you siad the W140 was the last of the hand built merc's. Even the web reckons Mercedes lost mine on every one built as they are so over engineered lol
zetecmk2 Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 mr smoke'em......you are braver than me......i sold my mk2 for a plastic (well, kevlar) ford....and i wouldn't even put that on osf!!! you deserve all the ribbin' that is heading your way!! i've just poured a glass of red, gonna sit back and watch this thread! (nice though!) 3
SmokeEm Posted September 29, 2015 Author Report Posted September 29, 2015 You have to give it a name. Come on? Errrm, Mrs has 'Ari' the Onda, so can I have 'Dirk' the Merc? Suitable suggestions on a postcard to the usual address.. 1
Admin Vista Posted September 29, 2015 Admin Report Posted September 29, 2015 I can take it Glenn So you're a receiver rather than a giver?
SmokeEm Posted September 29, 2015 Author Report Posted September 29, 2015 Yes Scott, I was only too pleased to help you with your fantasy.
JP. Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 As we say in Holland.... rather have a star ( stonechip) in my front screen than having one in my grille... 1
Admin Mk2Jo Posted September 30, 2015 Admin Report Posted September 30, 2015 You won't have it long anyway ... you'll be selling it before next Spring. ... you mark my words ....
SmokeEm Posted September 30, 2015 Author Report Posted September 30, 2015 You won't have it long anyway ... you'll be selling it before next Spring. ... you mark my words .... Fancy a wager... I'm loving it massively atm! Stupidly quick, luxurious and reliable.. What's not to like? Lol
Admin Mk2Jo Posted September 30, 2015 Admin Report Posted September 30, 2015 Fancy a wager... I'm loving it massively atm! Stupidly quick, luxurious and reliable.. What's not to like? Lol 1
SmokeEm Posted October 1, 2015 Author Report Posted October 1, 2015 Oh yeah, forgot about that I'm saving up currently so I can take it to work one day next week 2
DT36 Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 What's not to like? The fuel bill lol Give it a gas conversion... 1
SmokeEm Posted October 1, 2015 Author Report Posted October 1, 2015 Give it a gas conversion... Doesn't that cost like 2k?? I wouldn't attempt to do the work myself
SmokeEm Posted October 1, 2015 Author Report Posted October 1, 2015 She now has Tax. £230 a year. Result!
Danish Posted October 2, 2015 Report Posted October 2, 2015 You mean my 18" AMG monobloc's? Err, No, they are staying until I can afford some 22" chrome blingy's from the U S Of A There was a Mercedes with AMG wheels in my local garage yesterday - it had just got 4 new tyres - 285x20 r? at £300 per tyre. It's the first time I've been aware I've seen a 20 profile tyre, and I thought my XJ8 was bad at £170 per tyre. 1
SmokeEm Posted October 2, 2015 Author Report Posted October 2, 2015 I've found some receipts for new tyres in the history file. I think mine are 265/45/18 and they are £180ea! I will probably buy part worns if I keep the car long enough to need tyres I've never heard of 20 profile either Jayne, sounds like a rubber band!
