Aren't they significantly different to our Pintos though? I've heard that few parts (if any) are interchangeable, that the engines themselves are taller and that none of the mounting points etc correspond

:? Anyone else know anymore?

Yeah they are... But you can buy a crate engine, built, ready to bolt in... Hold up, i'll do some research...............

I cant copy the picture over... But the engine on the home page is very similar to our Pinto.... /www.esslingeracing.com/

That looks really tall to me to fit a Brit Ford, though it'd squeeze into a MK3 capper, though it might need a Camaro Z28 bonnet scoop to give it some clearance which would suit the MK3 quite well I suppose.

I reakon that it's probably not that much different... I cant find the damn website that i was looking at last year...

I'm pretty sure that my brothers 2.4 pinto has got a 2.3 head and I don't think he had to modify the block for the crank either. I'll find out later though.

The Yank 2.3 Pinto is physically bigger than the 2.0. When a mate of mine was looking to put a pinto in a mk2 Cortina, he needed a front bowl sump, which rumour had it comes from the yank pinto. But it turned out the 2.3 one wouldn't fit, it had to be a 2.0 which are super-rare in the states.

The US pinto (Lima) is a fair old engine but nothing is interchangable between it and the Euro pinto :( longer, taller, wider ect :(

There was a mag back in the late 80's/early 90's that put one in a Mk1 escort, may have been fast ford :?
