RS Centre Caps - Original, Better, Bad

Three RS Centre Caps. One Original, two replicas. One good replica the other bad. Which is which? Original, better, bad?

 

 

Take a guess before I post a photo of the back that will give the game away.

The one at the left are Burtons all plastic caps and the sell the RS logo stickers separately. The logos are poor and the black is more dark purple like they were made on an inkjet printer. The middle is a metal copy with a build quality to match the originals and come with an nearly accurate copy of the RS logo already stuck on. The only flaw I would name with these is that they are glossy black while the originals were Matt black. The one on the right is an original RS cap. While its plastic back clips have yellowed a bit with age they were pretty yellow to begin with unlike the good replica white clips. Of the two replicas the Burtons ones work out almost twice as much as the good replicas so its a no brainer in which to choose. I decided to get a set of replicas because they are so easily stolen so I pop the originals in a drawer somewhere.

I guessed correct, bad due to thickness of script, better one if you examine uniformity between R&S it's not quite perfect. Original is best in all respects. It's useful to make the comparison as you could end up paying same money for copies as original.

 

Also goes to show F O R D did something right.
