MK2 Escort headlights - what are people using?

Maybe an odd question, but what are people using? mine were useless and I fancy something a bit different.

They need to be decent on dip beam as I don't need that "sh*t where did the road go" on the late night burn ups!

 

I've seen angel-eye style for minis and MK1/2 golfs but it might look tacky. HID would but good but not at £700+

 

Any suggestions?

ive got the standard halogen conversion lamps in mine about £40 from minispeed

I got some proper 100/80 watt halogens from MPC (I think - I got them about 7 years ago..) proper bright they are but you'll need to fit a relay and better wires or you'll be forever burning fuses ......

there sold as rally light's i think my car looks like a rally car rude not to bigger the wattage the better. got to respray the spots will change the bulbs at the same time

I got some cheapo made in china h4 lamps for £15 at Bromley last year and they work a treat

a propper one with a hook nose? - I did have one & it caught fire!.

 

Had a picture or two through from the body prep boys, nearly there...

 

 

It went into paint Friday now the rollcage is in, so not long now before it's back! woohoo!

I was looking at the prices of some H4's but the golf mk2 crystal ones were cheaper! Think I paid 60 for a pair from German Swedish and I think they look the danglies heres some pics of them fitted

My bro runs crystal headlights with 100W bulbs in his mk2 golf, they're good for blinding animals before you hit them ...oh you want them to light up the road? well they do that really well
