colr6 Posted August 7, 2016 Report Posted August 7, 2016 Well we had an exellent turnout for ford fair today, the stand allocation was not really big enough. Quality of cars on the stand was really very good so a big thanks to those who were on the stand. Was getting a bit worried as we were on the stand at 6-10am with a rough format how we were going to set the cars out, 8-30 came and went only one other car had turned up a first timer to a club show. Had a chat with him and found out about the terrible mayhem on entry. Think the latest car to turn up was nearly 10am due to the volume of cars coming in. Weather started off as looking cloudy and windy but soon turned into glorious sunshine with a light breeze. Just a few pics of the cars on the stand starting off with the early birds having brekkie after a mostly sleepless night due to the mainly Focus Tossers. A few pics of the cars on the stand, you may all compliment me on my photographic skills I know you all be jealous of this !! 2
colr6 Posted August 7, 2016 Author Report Posted August 7, 2016 We had great foot traffic most of the day heard a lot of great comments about the cars on the stand so that's a plus, but then again once you've seen one orange Focus you've seen the other 500 that went with it same applies to Fiestas good job they have remote alarms on them to make the indicators flash otherwise you wouldn't know which one was yours !! The all look the bloody same. One car park for the Orange ones another car park for the blue ones and so on. So just pick your choice of colour go and look at one job done you've seen em all. Unlike our stand mixture of cars and different levels of restoration or modification to suit the majority of interests. Did watch a few people and they looked at every car on the stand Did manage to find a Focus and a Fiesta that wasn't adorning the enevatable colours so had to take a pic of them for you Hope you all had a good day cheers Col 3
classicwhitey Posted August 7, 2016 Report Posted August 7, 2016 think ill have to come in the car next year as never been to this event yet
OSF Contributor Mexican Gerbil Posted August 7, 2016 OSF Contributor Report Posted August 7, 2016 Nice pics. I was camp in the middle of our Focus Friends. I enjoyed the show and thanks for organising the stand.
Admin Vista Posted August 7, 2016 Admin Report Posted August 7, 2016 Well done to all who represented Old Skool Ford today. I shall drink another glass of red to you all sat here in the sweltering heat of the South of France. 1
Leo Posted August 7, 2016 Report Posted August 7, 2016 Nice write up and pics Col. I never thought I would get sick of the sound of dump valves!
khanlad Posted August 7, 2016 Report Posted August 7, 2016 I like the bouncing off the limiter sound, whilst stationary?
colr6 Posted August 7, 2016 Author Report Posted August 7, 2016 Think nearly everyone on that was praying for the sound of a rod coming through the side withe the finale of a blue smoke cloud floating across the campsite of which I would have thought deserve applause
Leo Posted August 7, 2016 Report Posted August 7, 2016 Think nearly everyone on that was praying for the sound of a rod coming the side withe the finale of a blue smoke cloud floating across the campsite of which I would have thought deserve applause That would've been so sweet.
DAN@ADRIAN FLUX Posted August 8, 2016 Report Posted August 8, 2016 Hi everyone, Just borrowed Dan's account as I just wanted to say that your stand looked fantastic & some great builds on show too. I attended the show as club rep & although Scott wasn't in attendance I did say hello to a few of you - Awesome day all round I think we can all agree? We did also grab a quick pic of the girls with the OSF banner: Cheers, Jordan 1
Admin Vista Posted August 8, 2016 Admin Report Posted August 8, 2016 Hi Jordan, Nope not in attendance this year, on holiday in France at the moment. Thanks for the pic though.
Bigfish Posted August 8, 2016 Report Posted August 8, 2016 Just seen on Retards Club there was a big crash out on track, focus ST into a fiesta which had no track day insurance
Leo Posted August 8, 2016 Report Posted August 8, 2016 Damn, I missed that. Would've been the highlight of the day.
colr6 Posted August 8, 2016 Author Report Posted August 8, 2016 Damn, I missed that. Would've been the highlight of the day. Only of the DAY!!!!! ....would have been worth a bit more than that 1
Leo Posted August 8, 2016 Report Posted August 8, 2016 I'm surprised there wasn't more accidents, a lot of them didn't look like track day regulars.
OSF Contributor Mexican Gerbil Posted August 8, 2016 OSF Contributor Report Posted August 8, 2016 When they sent those fiestas out ( guessing they were ride alongs or something? ) and then released the cars at the end of Wellington was crazy. Could have been more.
OSF Contributor Mexican Gerbil Posted August 8, 2016 OSF Contributor Report Posted August 8, 2016 Oh whilst I'm here who owns the blue RS2000 parked next to me? Wanted to ask him a few questions
Admin Vista Posted August 8, 2016 Admin Report Posted August 8, 2016 Oh whilst I'm here who owns the blue RS2000 parked next to me? Wanted to ask him a few questions Nice looking car, owned by Bisho mk1rs2
khanlad Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 The track was one of the highlights, didn't seem like there were any rules? If there was a briefing it must have gone something like, there's the track, try to stop on it, apart from that, do what you want! Enjoy!
The Transplanter Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 In all my years (and there has been a lot of them), that was the worst F'ing car show I have ever been to! If I never see another ST or RS Focus ever again it will be to soon A day of my life and £31 that I will never get back ! Anyone got a jerry can and a match 2
colr6 Posted August 9, 2016 Author Report Posted August 9, 2016 That's pic just about sums it up, how many people are looking at the orange tree. Bet most of those were only looking for the toilets !!
The Transplanter Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 I walked past your Anglebox a couple of times Col, was going to say hello but no one was around. I spent the whole day saying cant be arsed to walk over there, there or there, whilst pointing out the ocasional OSF to my mate. My highlight of the day was when I "nearly" bought a MK2 wing
colr6 Posted August 9, 2016 Author Report Posted August 9, 2016 Sorry wasn't there to have a chat, spent a lot of time trying to buy some sunglasses to block out all the Orange and blue glare! 2
