RWL81P Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 In all my years (and there has been a lot of them), the was the worst F'ing car show I have ever been to! If I never see and ST or RS Focus ever again it will be to soon A day of my life and £31 that I will never get back Anyone got a jerry can and a match glad you enjoyed it! ive been going there for years and last went 3yrs ago. what a sack of shit its turned into! more wanky fiesta st and focus st than our local ford dealer. not to mention bloody mondeos. i que'd for a week to get in, missed the drifting due to only 1 gate open and 3000 people trying to get in. only to be greeted with 20 000 new cars. only bit i miss is the autojumble. i emailed the organisers with a polite email of complaint, and they couldnt even be botherd to reply. there was 6 of us that used to go every year and none of us will ever go again. what a crock of shite.
Admin Vista Posted August 9, 2016 Admin Report Posted August 9, 2016 So do we strike this from the show list to attend as a club next year?
khanlad Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 Leo and I were talking about camping again a couple of hrs earlier, wander around the site, few beers ,bite to eat, not get up stupid earlier and come home Sunday? Not bother with the focus and fiesta show
colr6 Posted August 9, 2016 Author Report Posted August 9, 2016 As a club pr thing I would say no, the amount of foot traffic through the stand a looking around the cars was good. But apart from that a resounding yes. The track entertainment was less this year apart from the focus and fiesta crash, but you can't ask people to do that every year. The auto jumble not a lot. Trade stands great if you own plastic. Campsite getting increased amount of dickheads but apart from that a great show...NOT! Our little corner of the show was fantastic
RWL81P Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 Yes it is a ford show and yes the st are fords but i like all the older fords, anyting from model t's upto the mighty escort cosworth. but that was the last good looking and proper ford. all that new shite just doesnt do anything for me and never will, it just seems that the old fords are getting less, and all that modern crap is getting more every year. thats me done with the focus fiesta fair. classic car show at the nec will by my new place to hang out, a bit of everything and no modern crap.

I'll bet those ST,s are a good daily/road car. But I don't want to see thousands of the buggers, that's just boring!
colr6 Posted August 9, 2016 Author Report Posted August 9, 2016 We could stay up really late, and rev our cars up on the rev limiter (if it has one) and wake them tw@ts up. Then lie in. Have you got a focus ST sat home with that mentality ? ....LOL
RWL81P Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 I'll bet those ST,s are a good daily/road car. But I don't want to see thousands of the buggers, that's just boring! yeah granted, but a good old pinto is just as reliable and cheaper and easyer to fix, if i did want to look at plastic crap which i really dont then id go to stoneacre ford for a look. think they should just stay at theyre local mcdonalds though with all the other warm haches. 1
RWL81P Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 they could put a fiesta st near the gate, then let people pay £10 to kick the shit out of it as they leave. 3
Leo Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 Have you got a focus ST sat home with that mentality ? ....LOL No, no st,s here, I'm just vindictive.
colr6 Posted August 9, 2016 Author Report Posted August 9, 2016 they could put a fiesta st near the gate, then let people pay £10 to kick the shit out of it as they leave. Why not charge £12 with a free stick of dynamite the blow the bloody thing up and know it won't be at next years show
The Transplanter Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 they could put a fiesta st near the gate, then let people pay £10 to kick the shit out of it as they leave. A couple of years back, VW Action bought one of Leepu's monstrousities and sold tickets to smash it to bits with a baseball bat! All in the name of charity. We should chip in and buy and orange Focus! Actually, thinking about it, there are always more OSF's at VW Action than there was at Ford Fair! 1
RWL81P Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 its got to be the horrible pearl orange or green though, you can use the bat, i just wana kick the windows out.
RWL81P Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 come to think of it, a couple of years back, we had 2 unmarked focus st cop cars in donny, they was silver. they got rid of them and went back to bmws. probably got sick of seeing the things so went back to the german taxis.
colr6 Posted August 9, 2016 Author Report Posted August 9, 2016 its got to be the horrible pearl orange or green though, you can use the bat, i just wana kick the windows out. Are you one of those vandals I hear about ! Or do I detect a slight hint of hatred towards focuses and fiestas ?? ...LOL
RWL81P Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 no not a vandal, lol. would give me more pleasure feeling it at the end of my foot rather than a bat. a bit like catching a smackhead trying to steal from ya then beating the crap out them. and nah, i dont hate em, i just dont wana go to a show and see a million of the bloody things that are all exactly the same. fiesta st would be ok for ar lass. just better watch the windows when ive had a few stellas. lol 1
john123 Posted August 11, 2016 Report Posted August 11, 2016 its there show i dont know what all the fuss is about classic ford which is trying to put a cut off date for cars is for the older stuff this show is run by fast ford with classic ford mag along because its in the same stable as it so all should have known what it was about before going it will only get worse because the focus clubs had a great time
colr6 Posted August 11, 2016 Author Report Posted August 11, 2016 so all should have known what it was about before going it will only get worse because the focus clubs had a great time So on that then can we expect to see this advertised as FOCUS FAIR instead of FORD FAIR next year then ??
OSF Contributor Mexican Gerbil Posted August 11, 2016 OSF Contributor Report Posted August 11, 2016 Col. you are awair that in 2 years time the mk1 focus will be eligible for the classic ford show ( 20 year rule ) It was the first time I've been to ford fair so don't know how good or bad it's been in previous years. I've heard that it would be blue and orange focus' everywhere but liked the variety of modified modern fords. It's a show for ford fans and I know my escort got a lot of attention at the campsite and the stand was busy most of the day. Think about it like this. If you like fords your going to have a couple of them to drive. Why leave it outside when you can park inside. I will probably go again. And to be really honest I preferred it to classic ford show. There 20 year rule isn t really "classic" enough.
colr6 Posted August 11, 2016 Author Report Posted August 11, 2016 Take your point, but it's going to get to the situation where if is going to be no difference between shows. Increasing the threshold on classic to me was wrong but that's my view. How can a show be any good with a car park full of orange ones, blue ones and so on. Only difference is suppliers names on number plates, if you can get all excited about that then you need to get out more ! To me it's simple a show for metal fords and a show for plastic ones no crossover. 1
Leo Posted August 11, 2016 Report Posted August 11, 2016 It seams completely pointless going to a show with predominantly current cars, you can go to a showroom for that free. I thought it would be a variety of cars, which obviously there wasn't. If it had been a spread of cars through the years, yes I'd understand it. And probably go again. I for one won't be there again. 1
OSF Contributor Mexican Gerbil Posted August 11, 2016 OSF Contributor Report Posted August 11, 2016 Wonder if the "focus" chaps think the same way. Seen one mk1 escort seen them all. Ha ha ha. Agree classic car show should have a cut off. Then rebrand to retro cars. This forum is probably a good example of keeping it Old Skool. Hopefully the tour we are organising will be come so popular we can hire out castle Combe and have a Old Skool show.
