Midnight Mark Posted August 28, 2016 Author Report Posted August 28, 2016 Hi I introduced myself a couple of months ago so I thought I'd show a picture of my car .. It's a rare colour midnight blue ( I would love to know how many other midnight blue cars are left ?)as I've never seen another one at any shows !! I've owned the car for 23 years and its hopefully soon to go away for a full restoration The engine is currently with Harris performance engines to be built to a high spec.. Cheers Mark
meXEco Posted August 28, 2016 Report Posted August 28, 2016 Nice I remember seeing one in a car showroom about 15 years ago in that colour, and I think my mate has one pretty sure the same colour needs resto tho.
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted August 28, 2016 Moderator Report Posted August 28, 2016 Its a colour used on our R2000s/Rally Packs (Mexico equiv) in Australia too.
Midnight Mark Posted August 28, 2016 Author Report Posted August 28, 2016 I was told it was the rarest colour for a mk2 rs2000 but I'm not sure that's a 100% true
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted August 28, 2016 Moderator Report Posted August 28, 2016 I was told it was the rarest colour for a mk2 rs2000 but I'm not sure that's a 100% true Yes its said to be the rarest colour here too.

mk1del Posted August 28, 2016 Report Posted August 28, 2016 Very rare colour ,not many about in midnight blue, most of them probably got colour changed, my mate just sold his for top money he owned it since 96., someone saw it and made him a offer he couldn't refuse
colr6 Posted August 28, 2016 Report Posted August 28, 2016 Ive not seen many in this colour, the last one I saw had light coloured interior which was in mint condition I have to say. It was a refreshing change to see light colour inside with darker exterior and not black !
2512pf Posted August 28, 2016 Report Posted August 28, 2016 I had a black with beige seats I think the last ones had a light seats and roof linings if i remember ?
Midnight Mark Posted August 29, 2016 Author Report Posted August 29, 2016 Hi thanks for your comments My work mate bought the car in 86 .. I bought the car in 93 after nagging him to death to sell me it The car had blue velour seats front and back the same as a ghia ... We both assumed at some point in its early life it had stolen and the interior had taken and replaced ghia interior .., The first thing I did was to junk that interior a replace it with fishnet recaro I googled the reg number many years later and it was on a piston heads forum about my car apparently the first owner didn't want recaro seats .. So it was a custom model with a ghia interior even the dash had the fake wood on from the factory!!!
DT36 Posted August 29, 2016 Report Posted August 29, 2016 Nice car i think everyones mates got an rs lol My Mates Mate has an RS 1
colr6 Posted August 29, 2016 Report Posted August 29, 2016 I ain't got no mates so don't have that problem....LOL 1
2512pf Posted August 29, 2016 Report Posted August 29, 2016 Most of my mates had a 1.1l or a popular If they were flash maybe a popular plus
PeterMEscort Posted September 10, 2016 Report Posted September 10, 2016 I bought a "Midnight" RS2000 three years ago. Currently is "Alligator Grey" (undercoat), and on a spit. In Australia the Midnight colour is by far the rarest of the RS2000 colours. Simply because it was not a very popular colour when the cars were new. Still growing on me. Maybe one day.....
RWL81P Posted September 10, 2016 Report Posted September 10, 2016 my mate nearly bought a midnight blue rs2000 from the rs national day a few years back, sure it was 9 grand. somebody got it before us though. calypso geen is another very rare colour!
Midnight Mark Posted September 10, 2016 Author Report Posted September 10, 2016 Hi Thanks for your reply Midnight blue is a fantastic colour!! For me it was love at first sight!! There is a beautiful one on uk eBay at the moment.. I don't particular like the interior colour ( biege ) but the rest of the car is stunning.. Good luck with yours ..
