Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted November 24, 2016 Moderator Report Posted November 24, 2016 How do thieves get a stolen car all the way to Ireland? Dont customs or something do checks with incoming ships?
escortmad79 Posted November 24, 2016 Author Report Posted November 24, 2016 Same way they end up in Africa, either covered up or hidden in containers. Ports don't have time to check everything so stolen cars go out undetected
RWL81P Posted November 24, 2016 Report Posted November 24, 2016 glad to hear the car came home! escorts are massive for rallying in ireland, its pretty obvious with the price of the escorts and how many attend there rallies that theres gonna be some stolen shells there.
aardvark101 Posted November 24, 2016 Report Posted November 24, 2016 Dare i say, Gypsies/ tinkers, or am i being judgemental

RWL81P Posted November 24, 2016 Report Posted November 24, 2016 Dare i say, Gypsies/ tinkers, or am i being judgemental gypsys usually nick copper wire and scrap metal. i think the stealing and exporting of classic cars is more of an organised crime gang!
morcheen Posted November 25, 2016 Report Posted November 25, 2016 gypsys usually nick copper wire and scrap metal. i think the stealing and exporting of classic cars is more of an organised crime gang! they are wise to the values of old cars.but of course they aint the only ones nicking them. hope to hear more of how the car was recovered.
escortmad79 Posted November 26, 2016 Author Report Posted November 26, 2016 I posted it up on my stolenoldskoolford group After seeing it posted on Retro Rides. someone saw my post & sent me a message looking for the owners details as he had information on it. All went quiet until the other day when it was announced that it had been recovered in Southern Ireland. The Garda are still investigating the theft so not going to put any further details up incase it jeopardises prosecution proceedings. 2
foberfarm Posted January 4, 2017 Report Posted January 4, 2017 Great to hear another classic recovered
gert Posted January 6, 2017 Report Posted January 6, 2017 Well it has come home. In Denmark was one of Veterantræf, and 2 weeks later he got stolen his old car. The thieves had mounted on a theft gps, they knew where the car was, So check your car before you get home. HAPPY NEW YEAR 1
