I have seen the 15" 4 spokes on JBW website and in classic ford.

Does anybody have a set on a mk1??

I am a lover of13" wheels on an escort as it suits then to a tee.

Has anyone seen a st on an escort yet??

They do and don't look 'wrong' on the Cappa but to my eye 7 and 7.5x13's on Escorts NEED arches to look correct and would assume using 15's would be no different. The offset with the 7x15 is fractionally less than with 13's - bonus and even the 8's aren't too extreme in that respect although I guess PAS would be beneficial with 8's on the front LOL !

But some reckon the handling goes to pot using big rollers - anyone know?

The people slagging 15's then go and stretch 175/50 over there 13's so theres is probably more out of wack than anyones! The works teams back in the day used 15 and 13, 20 years ago i ran 14's on my escort, you could get a better range of rubber for them than 185/205×60 ever made even back then. 15's are less popular now than they were 10/15 years ago but i would bet the choice is still bigger from tyre manufacturers than it is for 13's? Gone off the point a bit, ive seen the 4 spokes and wondered myself how they would look on mine, i do know that my 15 minilites look better than my 13 four spokes. Mine are 7×15 195/45/15, imagine they would be similar offset? standard arch, standard length english and i had pull the arch a fair bit to get clearance, mk1 are tighter so id be mindful of that

Didn't Roger clark once -by mistake - have 13 on one side and 15 on the other side think it was circa 1975 I like 15 inch wheels on capris and escorts .

175 50 13 only look right if the car is lowered 2 inches. They look liked 12 inch wheels hence I moved them on. I think directional tyres are great.

I do like the slightly larger diameter wheels in the RS 4 spoke look and I will look into replacing mine with some eventually.

I currently have the original 7.5 x 13 RS alloys, but would like to go slightly fatter at the rear on maybe a 14 or 15 inch diameter, assuming I will be able to just swap like for like, will hopefully make tyre choice a little easier as I currently have 235 x 60 x 13 on the rear and they are getting harder to get.

I think the Capri can pull off the bigger wheel look as the car is quite long and they are big wheel wells to fill.

From an angle they look great, but side on they look a little small I think.

post-16579-0-68797300-1482927587_thumb.jpgthese look great but only cos its arched otherwise keep the 15s for capris as it suits the bigger car. 15s on unarched escorts looks like that bloody tim westwoods pimped your ride, and made a balls of it like they always did!

I think wheels are very much a personal decision. When I had my Dutton kit car -1600e running gear - I tried six different types of wheels and I liked the cosmic alloys that I bought off an old anglia. Everyone else were not keen but each to their own I say.fook em.
