Cant get a jack under mine without driving on to something or, lifting it up with the wheel arch as a mate slides the jack under. mine sits a lot lower at the back end with a nice touch of camber. My exhaust always used to scrape but when I had the new one made up they tooked it up a lot higher than normal, It still scrapes when some one sits in the back

2"? That looks lower than that, or is that on top of the 1" lowering of the standard RS? I want mine this stance really so I think with the Mk1 it'll end up 3", Ermine white on the polished lasers I have, just hope it doesn't catch too much

As i said the front struts are 2.8 capri ones, i believe the spring platforms are a bit lower, not sure by how much thou

Dont have to worry about pot holes, tram rails poking out of the cobblestones, frozen snow banks, speedbumps. Or least but not last avoid to be laughed at by people who associate slammed cars with wannabe hotrodders

mine is lowered 2" all round and ever since i bought my peter lloyd system it doesent grind the bumps any more well designed i say!

 

 

also 2" is probably the optimum lowereing height coz then you can have fun down the country lanes and not worry about smaking the bottom of the car off the floor.

Deluxe,Build your car how you like,luckily i dont have "tram rails" or "snow banks" where i live just speed humps & i choose to run my car very low & on silly little rubber band tyres because thats what i wanted. I dare say driving a 50 year old 100e gets me laughed at anyway & i couldnt give a shit

if you lower a cars centre of gravity it handles better, thats plain and simple fact. wider wheels equal more grip and low profile tyres have tiffer sidewalls so improve handling further.

 

if you stick them all together you get the start of a cool looking 'theme' to your car. how much further it goes it down to personal taste.

You're correct as long as you don't run out of suspension travel, as soon as you hit the bumpstops then it all gets a bit nasty.

 

I've ran MK2 escorts as daily hacks at -2" & the axle (on single leaf springs) used to crash against the underside (especially when landing jumps ). Travel is the biggest problem, it can ruin an awesome car.

so i put it to -40mm.
