HOW LOW?

I was just wondering how low your cars are? When I got my Mk1 it had a drop of 3 inches in it, but corroded lowering blocks stacked up all fell out when we loosened the axle and the struts lunged at my face where the springs had been cut and tied

 

My brother bought me some 1" lower springs which I exchanged for 2" and 2" blocks, and I think it sits way too high still but I got bought a RAC jack for christmas and decided to use it found its well crap as its an inch higher than my cross member and has the tiniest cup ever, like balancing an egg on a needle and it decided to let itself down everytime we tried to push it. As a result the crossmember I had blasted and sprayed is crap due to my ol mans impatience, and he tried tugging at it by the arch which isn't yet welded as they were having furnature delivered, tell ya I was pissed. But I think it looks gay and needs to be down by 3" at some point in the future, just wondering if anyone with slammed motors has trouble with the roads as I'm rural and there's a few potholes buit more in town with the ramps I'm worried by as I dont want to lose my Ashley. I'll have to be more careful, as I sometimes try an clear the level crossing when i'm in another car

Well, at the minute my tina is boggo. As soon as i get it back though i'm planning to drop it 3" all round.

I wanna slam the estate my everyday car I slammed 35mm at the front and 60mm at the back its as far as I could go cos its on 17s

Mines slammed lovely but was that way when I got it. The front crossmember rarely catches speed bumps.

mines 2" all round with lo pro tires on 13"sso pretty low i catch the twin box zorst on the floor and sometimes chaissis lol but it looks good

It'll have to wait till I get it going properly yet, but yeah, it'll go down to 3" again I reckon, it'll look sorted then. Dude your Mk3 tina rocks, and I really love your Mexico Johnny. Where abouts are you, your not far from me are you? Once I get the Mk1 done we'll have to go for a blat up to the Ace or Ashford mate That yellow transit from the paintshop you had that done is in a village loacal to me too, its got white roof red stripe and a thunderbirds style no 3 on the doors now

Yep definiteley,if i drive anywhere i plan my route to avoid shite roads & speed humps which often makes the journey a lot longer but who cares

My 100e's crossmember is about 2 inches off the floor & does bottom out if theres another person in the car.As for getting a jack under there forget it! I have to drive on to wooden blocks before trying to jack it up.Thats the price you pay for getting the car to sit how you want it

Ive seen so many cars running 175/50s with a gap in the arch you could fit your head in!! which for me defeats the object of fitting them in the first place.dont think some people realise the effort that goes into getting a car sitting nice & looking right.My mk1 had the back axle shifted forward & the front anti roll bar relocated by an inch just so the wheels sat niceley in the arch (ie not too far back) the exhaust mounts were re made to tuck it right up out of the way & it got over most humps fine

standard at the moment. no real plans to lower it, but that might change when i fit the alloys

My gold Mk2 was lowered 2" at the rear using blocks & 3" at the front using 2.8i Billies & home chopped springs.

 

That used to grind out on speed humps!

Mine s lowered 2 in s at the back, I m using 2.8 struts with -2ins springs on the front, When i had the revos on with the 175/50 tyres on, i was always catching the exhaust, I ve now put the RS alloys back on with 185/60 tyres, so its raised it up enough now to stop this.

My 105e has got 2" blocks and decambered rear springs on the rear with 185/60/13's and coilovers with 175/50/13's on the front and although everyone comments on its stance its a pain in the arse.It scrapes everywhere i go , its a nightmare to lift up on a jack can't get it on the ramps at work etc . Seriously thinking of raising it to make it more driveable.Fook me i sound old

Well I planned on going 3" but failed to relise that when I welded a plate to the home made blocks that it was actually more like 3 1/4! And thats on 175/50 13's! like it low tho and yes it can be a bit of pain in the

I'm in Allhallows, ahem. I think I'm one of the very few without webbed feet. I haven't had the Anglia on the road for a while, just been doing an engine refurb but work in London so is a 7 - 7.30 job when you add the travelling and my gf soo lives in Gillingham which loses time for me travelling to there so haven't spent as much time as I'd like to on it, but its going soon hopefully as it was only meant as a runabout while the Mk1 was being done, but turned into a project of itself, so I'll have the mk1 worked on soon. Where did you have the bodywork done mate? I can't decide how far to go with it, just get it on the road or have the roof redone and tidy it up and bare metal it etc. Hmmm.

2"? That looks lower than that, or is that on top of the 1" lowering of the standard RS? I want mine this stance really so I think with the Mk1 it'll end up 3", Ermine white on the polished lasers I have, just hope it doesn't catch too much

..mine is as low as it can go and still be able to track it straight

 

I have -2" strut bodied coilovers....1.5" blocks with tired single leafs on the back....

 

..I have both my exhausts nice and tight to the body and the centre boxes 'caress' speed humps

Mine's got about 2 1/2" ground clearance. It's not bad, but the exhausts tend to 'rub' on lumps in the road. I have to play dodgems with raised man-hole covers!
