Baz. Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Well i wont gloat and tell you i told you so , so i wont You will defo get more engine vibration in the car mate, and the engine note sounds harsher, but the engine is solid mate and you deffo need it with that big manifold I brought mine from Autocross in Wokingham,( long time ago) I have just spent a small fortune with Peter Loyd and i cant complain about the service and the stuff was good too Baz
PIG Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 got mine from race,a little bit more exspensive but great quaility and service.your choice tho m8.
BIG G Posted February 26, 2007 Author Report Posted February 26, 2007 peter lloyd it is then and cheers baz best buy a gp 4 steering knuckle as well oh and do the sump gasket as well god these jobs keep mounting up but i love it.
sambo Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Dont be surprised to have probs with fitting though mate. I've had one that is poorly manufactured and throws the geometry out etc. Also check that they sent you a std rack mount one as i got through a lowered rack mount x-member and didnt realise until i had cut out a groove to clear the sump!!
DEP Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 I got mine from Rally Design, was ok, but there was a bit more vibration than the standard one.
Mark2Mark Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Are you guys who are getting vibrations with the WCXM using Gp4 or standard steering knuckles?
MightySprocket Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 i have a RACE one... more vibration? fookin hell yeah!
tim Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 course its going 2 vibrate it mounts the engine more solid so it doesnt drop off when in the middle of a forest, some people swear by then other say only needed in arally car buy 1 from some1 like west wales rally spares,RACE or plr
stu Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 me got 1 loads more vibs . when my mate fitted it da engine sat very slightly off center. we tried 2 both did the same, in da death he welded up 1 hole and moved it over a few mill 2 suite. so i agree with da lads it depends on da manafacture of it {still well worth fitting 1
DEP Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Are you guys who are getting vibrations with the WCXM using Gp4 or standard steering knuckles? I ve got a group 4 one
Tom Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 slightly off topic but i got one of those gp4 knuckles and its about 2 inches too short?
Cookie Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 What are chasis mounted kits like then? are they harsh aswell?
Jay_harrier Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 who uses one and where did you get it from.peter loyd looks the cheapest at the mo but im still looking. will the engine vibrate more that a standard one? yeah yeah i know baz You'll definately feel every vibe especially at 7500rpm - those extra lights in the beak might work loose too... Yep got one here - not fitted yet though & as you're 'round the corner-ish you're welcome to come and have a gander if it'll make any difference. You'll need the engine mounts too. Justin
Jay_harrier Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 and if you haven't done it yet go heavy duty in the bushes for the rack and the track control arms. You do have the option to solid mount the rack but I think that might be too harsh for road use.
BIG G Posted February 27, 2007 Author Report Posted February 27, 2007 Cheers jay.poly bushed the rack already. wcxm it is then my new zorst is on cotton reels straight to the floor and the vibrations pretty bad already but the rear veiw mirrors have four cars following me all the time its the OSF way.
Fiesta Steve Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 slightly off topic but i got one of those gp4 knuckles and its about 2 inches too short? Tom, you need the longer Mk2 column or one from a Mk1
jay Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 i got a wcxm, quite vibby, but much better being solid.. helps with clearance probs around the engine bay, ie exhaust manifolds....
