Rich T Posted August 17, 2017 Report Posted August 17, 2017 Evening all. I just need a little info really. A mate has just informed me that he has a pair of MK2 Fishnet Recaros that i sold him (complete with car) about 15 years ago. They were in very good shape last time i saw them. He sead i can have them back. I know its a how long is a piece of string question but what is the going rate for these now? They are chocolate brown so id have to re-cover them in black anyway. Cheers Rich
colr6 Posted August 17, 2017 Report Posted August 17, 2017 If he was a mate he would donate to a good cause !
Admin Vista Posted August 17, 2017 Admin Report Posted August 17, 2017 If the chocolate brown is in good nick, don't be too hasty to recover them in black as it's pretty rare now.
Rich T Posted August 17, 2017 Author Report Posted August 17, 2017 He is a good mate but if theyre worth loads i dont want to take the mick. If theyre worth a little i could give him a couple of hundred that he could probably do with. I could keep em brown if theyre getting a bit thin on the ground but the car is brown. Could end up being a bit double denim lol
colr6 Posted August 17, 2017 Report Posted August 17, 2017 Would have thought a couple of hundred would be a good gesture, I paid a hundred for a pair of minters but the guy was very short of cash at the time and was glad of it.
In The Pit Posted August 21, 2017 Report Posted August 21, 2017 As mentioned if they are in brown and in good condition I wouldn't recover in black as black are the common ones where as the brown ones are harder to find (they came in two different shades of brown 'chocolate 76' and 'bitter chocolate'). If you wanted black then sell the brown and with the money buy some in black. You mention your car is brown and brown MKII's were available with a brown interior so it would be period correct colour wise (although not sure on MKI Escorts).
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted August 22, 2017 Moderator Report Posted August 22, 2017 Definitely keep them brown. Sell them off for black ones and you may find your ahead financially. I personally think they may actually go really well with your brown mk1. Black interiors with brown cars can seem overly dark inside.
khanlad Posted August 22, 2017 Report Posted August 22, 2017 im not sure how right fishnet recaros would looking a mk1, regardless of colour? If hes a good mate and hes short of a few quid help him sell them?
Rich T Posted August 22, 2017 Author Report Posted August 22, 2017 Im not sure either. The E that they were in was white and they looked good. Hes not short of money but he is a good mate and wouldnt want to diddle him.

Cheers Rich Hi. Aldridge do a very good recover. If you decide black is your colour then I'd strongly advise on using them. If you do change and your brown covers are in good shape and removed properly, I'd offer £400 for them. Pm me if you decide to go this way. Cheers Steve
