I actually don’t think that’s true, simple subtle colours suit a 4 door

Simple colours with the extra doors tend to make them look regular people carriers. Strong bold vivid colours make you look past the extra doors to give it a sportier wow factor that you more often see with 2 doors. Its especially evident on Mk1 Escorts. On 4 door Mk2 Cortinas though possibly the opposite is true.

So bearing that in mind, what colour and what colour type would you fine people suggest for my car, I personally dislike the blue, more so as its a flat colour, and quite similar to my work van colour 🤦‍♂️

When I made the point of bold colours for 4 doors it was more directed at Mk1 Escorts. Mk1 Cortinas have unique qualities that have their own special needs. I quite liked your blue but definitely change if you think it needs a lift. Mk1 Cortinas seem very difficult to get that balance right. I love orange but some of the examples in orange on my colour dedicated thread didn't quite work. Red seems a bit bold for Mk1 Cortinas too. I guess this is one of the reasons why many default to the most common white. Col did very well using a classic metallic grey, subtle but classy at the same time and complimented with matching stripes. After seeing Cols car I always thought if I had a Mk1 that the traditional period Aston Martin colours would be where I would look. They have the pale metallic grey green that I really love that I think would suit even in a Mk2 Cortina as well. Hopefully people can post a few images of other 4 door Mk1s of colours they like and give you some inspiration.

That one is very nice I haven't seen anything like it before. I don't think a white 4 door Mk1 will have that uniqueness and stand out as much as you may like, especially not as flash as that one you pictured!

It's not even a real car, it's a Picture of a car of a computer game where u can customise cars before racing them, it's now what I want mine to look like. Colourwise at least

I quite like the colours that look miles deep, I think that's why I'm not a huge fan of the colour on mine, it's real flat, no depth, I had a mazda6 that was a gorgeous deep blue, I wandered if it'd suit a mk1? What you think?
