preacherman Posted December 23, 2018 Report Posted December 23, 2018 So my Mark 2 is over 40 years old The mot expired a week ago, too busy to get it done. The car is mot exempt however I will still get it mot'd. Can I still drive it on the road or this a form I need to fill out and send to dvla. The car is insured and taxed and not on public highway. I am tempted to use the car until I can get mot but worried the plod might get me. Thanks Neil
Monza Posted December 23, 2018 Report Posted December 23, 2018 I would have thought if you have declared it mot exempt with dvla then you'd be ok to use it. If not declared, then it might flash up with plod as out of mot.....Thats how I see it. I'm going to keep moting mine and won't be declaring it mot exempt even tho its a 1970 mk1 Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
notenoughtime Posted December 23, 2018 Report Posted December 23, 2018 You need to fill the form in for it to be exempt, it might flag up but what are the actual chances of being pulled?
Admin Vista Posted December 23, 2018 Admin Report Posted December 23, 2018 No declaration needed for it to be MOT exempt. Only for there to have been no significant modifications carried out post 1988 in order for it to be tax exempt next time you tax it.

It was MOT exempt I meant rather than tax exempt. And if it has been modified, then you need to continue to MOT it as normal.
