Old classic tyre sizes are a nightmare.

You can look at two 185/60 13 tyres from different manufacturers and they will be a totally different width and profile.

My advice is to look at tyres fitted to a car next time your at a car show and if you like them buy the same.

I have wasted tons of money on tyres trying to get the look right.

I took a photo of a 7" Superlite with a Yokohama 185/60 x 13 at a car show (seem to have deleted or lost the photo) that was fitted to a Sierra, from the side the tyre looked like a balloon, a much higher profile that the '60' would suggest which makes me wonder if fitting a 175 would have stretched it more.

I've seen a Mk2 Escort with 175/60 x 13 Toyo (possibly Proxes CP1) on 7" Superlites and it looks spot on.

Maybe a section dedicated to photos of wheel/tyre (make, width ET, etc) combination might be useful as it's a question that seems to crop up quite often!

I run 185/60s NS2r's on my 8" minilites and they dont really look stretched but the side wall is massive compared to other 60s on the market.
