Deffo not cheap ones

Strangely though its the unbranded cheapies I have found have that look closest to the original Motorcraft ones. Just of late all the brands seem to be making them broader and with more plastic fittings that look weird if your trying for that classic look. Even the Bosch ones while of good quality and all metal have wider tabs all  the way across the beam that really stand out (they have a 90's look rather than 70s). So I buy the cheaper ones that look closest to original but buy high quality replacement rubber inserts for them. That said I just won a pair of NOS Motorcraft ones that cost me 35 quid and I was the only bidder so that original wiper look must be something only the diehards like me go for and most are happy with the wider blade more modern look.

Just recently I had to get some blades for mums late 80s Camry and most didn't have the right plastic adapters that allowed it to fit a 8mm hook arm and those that did the wiper would skip on return. Bosch was the only one that seems to work fine but given its an 80s car it didnt look as out of place as they did on an Escort.

What length are Mk2 Escort wiper blades meant to be? The Motorcraft ones I purchased are two inches shorter than the ones I have on the car and would only wipe the very centre of the screen! They seem to have been swapped for another brand though and not Motorcraft at all but stamped with another brand. I checked the Ford manual and it doesnt state the actual length of Mk2 blades. Anyone know for sure?

What’s best option or make for replacement wiper blades for mk2 Escort ?

Off the shelf Bosch ones in black from EuroCarParts - not bothered about originality, I want them to work! I think they were 13"? https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/bosch-super-plus-universal-wiper-blade-sp13-485771020

Does yours have a U turn at the end?

No Australian Mk2s dont use the hook type either. They use the type that has a hole through it and you use the silver rod that comes with the blades themselves. There is a little release latch at the end to pull the rod out. I just assumed these were imported from Europe and all My2s were that way rather than get something locally made. Apparently not.

It looks like you're stuck with the Black multi fit wipers, with those arms. In the UK those pin type arms are very rare now, they were about in the seventies.

I haven't seen pins in wiper blade packets for years.

Sorry to awaken an old thread, but I still have the original 1970's pin type wiper blades on my RS but now one of the pins has broken. Does anyone know of a replacement option so I can keep the original wiper arms?

Do you know what the partno / finiscode / Motorcraft partcode is for the pin-type wipers?

Are these the ones?
