Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted March 20, 2023 Moderator Report Posted March 20, 2023 Anyone find these multi grooved discs very noisy? They are only very fine grooves but alot more off them than a regular grooved disc. Wondering what your thoughts were?
BIG G Posted March 20, 2023 Report Posted March 20, 2023 Sadly in my opinion it's just spec sheet bling on a road car, I had a pair on my RS turbo a few years back and they warped quite quickly and made no differance to stopping at all. As for noise with the groves being alot closer together they are better than the 6 or 8 groove discs. 1

I thought they were supposed to be made from harder material than the average pattern disc?

Think your buying upgraded stuff but it’s just the same as the imported tat you can get from the local factors just with a higher price. Edited March 20, 2023 by colr6 1 1

Yes I looked at a set of Brembo solid discs for the front of a Mk2 Escort and they were really the same Chinese pattern ones that came out of China as our local DBA brand ones. With the Tar-Ox though at least they were made in Italy and were unique in their design that it offered something a bit better than the pattern ones. That was the theory anyways.
Miniliteman Posted March 22, 2023 Report Posted March 22, 2023 Don't forget the other factor in "how noisy discs are" : the brake-pads.
