This numbered 90'000 at 22:00 yesterday. At 11:30 this morning? 555,000 and growing exponentially as you watch.

As a tool for effecting a change of government, almost certainly a waste of time as even if it is debated and a vote held, Starmer has such a large majority that he'll win any vote hands down. But as a measure of the level of dissatisfaction with this government? It being the fastest growing petition in history certainly sends a message.

Agreed Vista.

It does send the government a clear message, however, I believe in my opinion, this is just the tip of the proverbial and what they have planned.

I know they all lie, but this guy is on another level. True Labour died when the mighty John Smith passed. I now call them Liebour, because that’s who they are.

I think the term, ‘shafted’ is an understatement.

im agreed its inlikely to create a general election, especially as a party, they waited so long, but i would like to think it would create a vote of no confidence in him at a minimum, and he get ousted for someone else, even if it was agreed to hold a general, it would take ages, as they would have to fine a new leader first, also that petition has to stay active for 6 months, unless they decide otherwise, at the time of writing this, it sits at over 950000 signatures, and still rising fast, i think we need a similar one for a vote of no confidence and another to see how many would now vote for Nigel Farage

1.3 mil and still going strong. Personally I hope the arse drops dead asap, and do us all a massive favour.

2.7 million  now, its rate of rise has definitely slowed though.

And doubt it will achieve much. Are there no snipers among us?....😂

It certainly won't achieve a new election. It should however be taken as a wake up call and raise awareness of the level of dissatisfaction in the government.

starma has already said on a breakfast interview that hes taking no notice, there wont be another election, his word were thasts not the way this country works, i think the best we can hope for is his own party raise a vote of no confidence from it
