Paul Nicholes Posted June 5, 2025 Report Posted June 5, 2025 Hi everyone My name is Paul Nicholes and I have a mk 3 Cortina 2 litre GXL lookalike. I have spent 5 and a half years renovating it and altering it in order to recreate, as closely as possible, my dad's car that he had back when I was a young teenager through the mid 70s. I've done almost all the work myself in my home garage, only the heavy machining, chroming and final paint spraying (badly 🙄) were done by other people. It's a custom shade of green similar to onyx green that I had mixed to match what I remember my dad's car looking like. Black vinyl roof, black interior, all the GXL badges, trim and accessories - Rostyle wheels quad headlights etc. The engine is nearly standard 2 litre pinto that has been balanced and ported and a fast road cam fitted. You can see full details of the restoration on my website www.mk3cortina.co.uk 1
