Nige65 Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 As the title suggests, does anyone have experience of how to rejuvenate a rear parcel shelf, mine is brown and I’ve tried a few different substances to bring it back to life but nothing had improved it, is it just a case of finding a matching coloured paint or is there a proper restoration method available? It actually looks worse than in the photo:
BaileyMex Posted March 9 Report Posted March 9 What about getting some dark brown faux leather and re-cover the whole thing by sticking it down with spray glue? If the colour matches ok, it'll look like new.
Johnny Boy Posted March 9 Report Posted March 9 Have you tried a heat gun, it works on most discoloured plastics.
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted March 11 Moderator Report Posted March 11 My original one has speaker holes I wanted removed so I found a beige one and vinyl sprayed it black.
YellowTaxi Posted March 17 Report Posted March 17 I tried all the above. Ended up buying a new fibrglass one from Historic Motorsport. It fitted really nice. Not cheap though. https://www.historicmotorsport.net/shop/new-parts/fibreglass-products/mk2-escort/mk2-escort-fibreglass-rear-parcel-shelf/
