no offense to turbosport ppl...

just signed up

as an OSF veteran i find it difficult to find good posts in a sea of RS-turbo/sierra topics.

i guess thats how OSF came about right?

I only use the zetec install forum there which is pretty much dead

I cant think of a single site thats suitably busy and caters for lovers of new and old cars alike its all just people trying to say their car is better because of blah blah blah

I couldnt give a toss if people own a better car than me hell most people do but i like my car as it is so sod em :P

i dont tend to go on there much as my computer doesnt like it, for some reason it doesnt like the control system or summat, lots of interesting resto threads

there is loads of into and resto help on there - because if the way Clint's set it up too it keeps all the pics ever uploaded which is really handy. If i've ever needed anything answering everyone on there is more than helpful

its also got an uploader so no need to fanny about with photobucket to insert pics. but saying that if someone is used to one forum they may not like another one as much because its a change

I go on TS everyday, I think I joined the same day I joined OSF, I like it, I like the variety thats on there but my post count is a lot lower on there than it is on here.

I think its a more "technical" site, I'm not knocking anyones ability or knowledge on here at all, but there does seem a lot more "How to......" etc on there than on here, for instance when I put an identical post up on both sites regarding what work was involved in fitting a YBT in a Capri, I think I only had a few replies on here and got lots more on there, but I spose thats because the YB is still (in some peoples opinions anyway) "new skool". I like both sites for different reasons but consider OSF my home :big hug:

There seems to be an air of 'my car cost me this much for someone to build it for me' and 'my willy is bigger than yours' on TS, but maybe that's just my perception of it.

Like everything though, I think it's a case of each to their own. Whatever you like, you do. It's no-one else's choice but your own

cant say ive ever come across anything like that,i would say the opposite most cars have been built on very little budgets as well as some of garys creations

as said above as well there is more tech info on there and a lots of people with experance

That's only the impression I get Al. I must admit I don't go on there much. I guess there is allways two sides to a story and peeps that know the forum well will have a more informed oppinion than those, like me, who only pay a fleeting visit every now and then.

Gotta be fair, i do like popping over the road for a bit of a read, hardly ever post on turbosport but always go and have a read through the old skool and message section, and occasionallt if i'm feeling off colour i will read through the new skool escorts and sierra cosworth rebuilds and mini section :lol:

I think its a great forum I must be honest, I can see why people say the negatives about some aspects of it, but its like anything or anywhere you get the good and the bad as we do as on here,

So  from me :D

i use t/s alot, more so than here tbh,ive meet people from both sites and they have all been decent people.but you do get tossers on both sites that do seem intent on getting up peoples noses.both sites have a different comunity but all have the same love of cars be it old or new..just my opinion tho guys.

as said tho i use both sites every day and have posted on here a lot more over the last 4 months or so :ykt::thumbsup:

I don't use Turbosport, but,

I have a lot of respect for Clint Gaskin and his admin team

as seeing as TS is easily as big a site as OSF,

and seeing all the work Darren, Jo, Ian, Tim, Phil and everyone put

in here, it goes without sayin that they're jus as busy themselves.

MUCHOS RESPECT!!! :cheers2:
