Welcome from California. Not sure of the tray at the back of the sump, it would line up with the crank though. If trying to go rear sump you would also need to change out the oil pick up to the rear, Burton Power would have those or someone here on the forum in the US might even have the sump and pick up already.

I sorry James, it was used for a dying Springer Spaniel, it's made a full recovery but insists on chasing old Fords and young women! (catches neither)😁 -
Hi, I just joined the forum hoping to get information on the Kent Crossflow 1600 and Ford T9. I bought a 1978 Triumph Spitfire a few years ago to restore. I bought a T9 5 speed gearbox from a Merkur XR4Ti. I bought a gear-set from BGH Geartech and I'm in the process of putting that back together. I also bought a Ford Kent Crossflow 1600 that was being used in a home made tractor. I believe it was an industrial engine before that. I'm in the process of trying to fit the engine and gearbox in the Spitfire before committing to an engine rebuild. The setup needs a rear bowl sump, but unfortunately this engine has a front bowl sump. I've pretty much given up on trying to find a rear bowl sump, and I'm going to try and cut this one up and weld it back together as a rear bowl. My first question is does anyone know the purpose of the rear baffle (in shallow part of sump)? I don't see anything different about the rear of the engine that explains its purpose. Thanks, Gene

My two car policy came up for renewal next month, and it looked too high. after much ringing around and internet buggeration I remembered Abbeyfields being on this site. I rang and got put through to Stuart, I saved £100. It was easy, I didn't get asked totally irrelevant questions, or pages of form filling, or have to sell a vital organ. Just a phone call, 6 pics per car and pay the money, bosh, done. Happy Days! -
Hi All, I've had this in my garage for years so i think its time to part with it, seems these are pretty rare as a couple have sold on ebay for £700-800!! This one is in pretty good nick, a bit of overspray on the top edge and the underside is coming away in places, some of the mounting holes are a bit tatty. Really dont know what to value it at so ill say £600 and hope that grabs some interest? Ill be putting it on ebay after the weekend, need to raise some funds for projects! Feel free to give me a call to discuss - James 07584675919

Hi graham It's only fitment is run on mk1 and mk2 escorts if you are running mx5 or rx6 gearboxes as they dont have any form of speedo cable fitment. As its controlled by the mazda ecu. And so need a speed sensor that picks up on front hub bolts as a way to determine speed once connected to a aftermarket dash. Hope this explains things. Sent from my SM-S711B using Tapatalk
