      Welcome back, and congrats on the RS2000. Always nice to see an AVO one, and they're getting harder to find in decent shape. Nige's point about the PB plate is a good starting place, since that gives you a registration area to work from. For history, I'd get your V5C details checked and have a look at the Mk1 RS Owners Club. They keep records on a lot of the AVO cars, and a chassis number check with them can sometimes turn up the original build info or previous owners. Any old MOTs, receipts or paperwork in the car are worth keeping hold of too, as they can help trace its past. Would be good to see a few more shots of the engine bay and interior when you get a chance.

      Bit of a long shot, but hoping the Mk1 Escort community might be able to help!
      My dad recently found these old photos of two Mk1 Escorts he owned many years ago, and we’ve discovered that amazingly both cars still appear to be alive and currently taxed.
      🔵 LEP 394K — 1971 Ford Escort, currently registered as blue with a 1600cc engine. This is the blue car in the photos. It’s still recorded as blue today and a new V5C was issued as recently as February 2025.
      🤎 JJC 634J — 1970 Ford Escort, 1098cc. My dad owned it when it was the dark brown colour shown in the photos, but according to the DVLA it is now WHITE and is also currently taxed.
      We’d absolutely love to find out where these cars ended up and, most of all, see what they look like today. My dad would be over the moon to know that cars he owned over 50 years ago are still being looked after.
      Does anyone recognise LEP 394K or JJC 634J, know their current owners, or have any more recent photos of either car?
      Please feel free to share this with any Mk1 Escort or classic Ford groups where someone might recognise them. We’d love to reunite a little bit of their history with whoever owns them now.
