  1. I would say to make your cam choice from the roads of where and how you will be driving. Usually when I'm out in my car, which has been once this year with my Wife driving, it doesn't get driven any different to my daily, due to other traffic and speed limits. This is now down to 20mph in many towns here, what with the backward Welsh Assembly. I ended up going with a mild FR30 and in fairness, it's been spot on for what I need and will still light the wheels up on a private road 😁 I did have a thread on here of building my engine, but can't find the link in my history.
  2. The original link I had before was a Site Sponsor called DMB Graphics, who at one point had loads of wheel badges on their site and usually on their show stands. Struggling to find them on there now through their menu. https://www.dmb.uk.com/prod/focus-mk3-rs-fog-light-protectors-v2 You basically have to measure the diameter of your centre sticker or badge and order to that size. I actually ended up using Cappa Grafix from numerous recommendations and he was absolutely spot on, with a great personal customer service. However, this is via a Social Media group.
  3. Yes, they are slightly domed/convex.
  4. Get a bucket of warm water and mix it with a scoop of Persil Automatic. It'll get your white whiter:
  5. Is that Alwyn? šŸ˜šŸ‘
  6. I have a Quaiffe ATB and I'm positive I used a 75/90. Unsure though if it was GL4 or GL5.

    OBD Readers

I use Forscan for reading my Mondeo ST, which is a 2007 model. I've tried various other scanners which just don't communicate. Although Forscan is a free download, the OBD CANbox can still work out more expensive than what @Johnny Boy has linked, so his link has got to be worth a go. I now use a Tunnel Rat with Forscan. https://tunnelrat-electronics.fwscart.com/ I've also tried the Android version with Bluetooth Dongle, but could not get it to communicate.

    Scams?

They just don't give up and glad they're blocked. I've got a Mk3 Escort 1.6 Diesel engine and 5 speed XR2 Gearbox for sale on the Bay at the moment, pick up only. Just had another enquiry on it this week that just doesn't seem right for me from the initial message I received. On explaining that I can't pallet it and additionally that a courier would not be able to lift it, I've had another message saying that I could have another Ā£100 on top for help in lifting it into a van šŸ˜‚. Could be innocent, but somethings not ringing right to me. I think I'll just end up selling the box separate and break the engine down for the conrods and sell them off.
  10. Might be of interest to someone: https://www.Retards Club.com/100071413863378/posts/pfbid027oDsupBhpUnSUCPowbZCbFpWi5P3mrZ9ag9khRgqLhZGoBQk5XhD9meD9BMxmZr6l/
  11. I have Dodo Mat under the rear carpet, rear firewall (welded in) behind rear seat, under rear shelf and a square under my bonnet. It seems to fit under the carpet fine, even with the original factory fibre soundproofing on top of it. The above has definitely made my car quiter and removed a lot of vibration from my bonnet caused by the WCXM. I will get around to fitting it under my front carpet at some point too, it's that good. Just not got any left at the moment. I was also going to fit a square inside my front door skins, but when I took the inner trims off, the panels were smothered in the original spray wax, so left it. I have also done the rear of 2 vans with this stuff and it makes a massive difference. Additionally used it on a Mk3 Mondeo, where you have to cut the factory rubber soundproofing in the drivers footwell to access one of the front subframe captive nuts when they spin/break their tack welds. Something else I also did around my rear inner wheel arch panels that go between the rear seat side panels and open into the boot area was to fill these with pvc loft lagging. You can buy a big roll of this in B&Q. This stuff is brilliant for lining van panels (on top of Dodo Mat) as it doesn't absorb any moisture. This area was also covered in spray wax on my car, so couldn't fit Dodo there. However, I think this has also helped reduce the panel drone. It works well there instead of Dodo because there's no window winder to interfere with. See pics below for example of Dodo and PVC lagging.
  12. Not mine and don't know the van, but might be of interest to the group. Close to me if you come to look at it and want a brew and a chocolate biscuit 😁 https://www.Retards Club.com/marketplace/item/240570222126702/
  13. Couple of hours left on this for tickets: https://dreamcargiveaways.co.uk/competitions/250hp-cosworth-ford-mk2-escort-
  14. I got a 5 speed XR2 box here 😁 Grey for the win: https://www.pressreader.com/uk/classic-ford/20190701/281603831959380
  15. Could you somehow get something like this mounted? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-ISOFIX-Mount-Base-Car-SUV-Autos-Safety-Seat-Belt-Bracket-Latch-4mm-/264119377966?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p4429486.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0
  16. Hard to tell the good from the bad on some Marketplace ads. This Caddy looked good and came up as "Local". Seller was messaged and alarm bells started ringing from the reply:
  17. Have you considered a MK3 Mondeo ST220 Final Facelift? 4 doors, Isofix and are now starting to appreciate. However, the Final Facelift is in the high tax bracket, compared to a Pre-Face and are not Ulez friendly. Still a reasonably cheap car though. However, I do like the XR4 in fairness. Also notice that Carcave Scotland have a few 4 door SA XR Sierra's at the moment. http://www.carcavescotland.co.uk/classic-cars-sale/our-classics-cars-sale?page=3
  18. Had one of these on my car for about 9 years. Also had alternator from same guy around the same time. Just bought another alternator from him recently for my Mondeo ST and it's spot on.
  19. When I was 17 or 18, I rumbled the big ends on my Mother's 2.3 Granada Ghia while I was home on leave. It didn't like holding 100+mph for an extended period 😁 I gave her money for one of those Gold line replacement engines that used to be the norm then and it went in to the garage for exchange. Around the same time a friend of mine was driving home from the Marines Depot in Lympstone and broke down on the Severn Bridge in his Allegro. Cost him Ā£50 to get towed off and home to our village. He was then getting posted to Comachio Group, so wanted to scrap the Allegro off. I had a look at it and gave him Ā£50 to take it off his hands as my Mother needed a car for work while her Granada was in having the engine exchanged. Gapped the points on the Allegro as they were closed and it was good to go. One happy Mother 😁 I returned back to work after my leave and didn't get back home for another 6 weeks. When I did get home, the Granada was back and all sorted. My Old Man had then sold the Allegro on for Ā£250 and gave the money to my Mother. I can still see the big grin on his face when he told me. One even happier Mother šŸ˜‚

    disc brakes

I've had two RS2000s with rear drums and my current RS2000 has a disc rear conversion with a bias pedal box. It was already fitted when I bought the car 10 years ago. My opinion, having had both, if it's being used on the road, then stick with drums. If you do decide to go down the disc route, then as Katana has said, go for a reputable kit. Also ask what original car model that the discs and pads are associated too. This makes it easier for future maintenance /repairs.
