  1. for me its a no no unfortunately, i initially and still have in my blue car, ATE racing blue DOT 4, which is no longer available, and extreemly expensive when if does come up, i last paid £150 per litre, but purely for its colour my purple car has silicon fluid, again initially because of its purple colour, and ive put this in several cars now, really good, as long as you dont aerate it too much prior to bleeding i had an under bonnet weep/leak on the DOT 4, this stripped the paint, so never again will i use DOT 4, silicon fluid doesnt harm anything, as long as the system is clean at fill, and its for life, whereas DOT 4 is Hydroscopic and sucks up water, and has a limited life as a result, i read on the net that the americans control the colour of brake fluid, and that they have colour charts that tell them how much water is in it by its colour, and it was them that banned the blue for road use while i also agree tho, that if your gonna race the car, silicon is not for you
  2. if i had thought about iot, you could have taken some bits for Kieth for me

  6. Ok guys n gals NEC 2026 is on and been committed to by those of us that wat to do it, this is a great show, but last year as with previous years was totally let down by club members, or should i say the lack of them with any interest so please peoples, show your interest and come and see us, once we have a ticket discount code, one of us will post it here its a great show, it really is, and i cant see any excuses when people come from as far as America, so Australia is just a stones throw from us James, see you there
  7. my neighbour has a 6 year old Ford Ranger thats wet belt, its now sat under a cover for the next year, as the finance agreement wont allow him to sell it, the cost to repair it with a second hand engine and new turbo is just shy of £10,000.00, and its had all its proper servicing from what im advised, when you do an oil change, its important to drop off and clean out the sump to prolong the life, because all the bits of rubber get in and block the oilways cars with these engines are a big theft item here, being stolen just for the donor engines, and garages are making fortunes out of changing the belts as well, some have actually diversified into that being their main core business junk, leave well alone
  8. After the last NEC we did converse you made life so hard work I stayed with Lancaster
  9. if your careful you can remove the old one and fit a new wire in and just gently re crimp it, then using a small blow gun heat it up and solder it, soldering old ones that you havnt removed the crimp is also good, as it gets rid of all the green mank within the wire and terminal and makes for a far better connection, ive done this loads of times, trick is not to over heat, soldering irons arent powerful enough though
  10. i really cant understand why in this day and age you leave a classic car un attended anywhere, its asking to be stolen, so much so in my area, that i darent take mine out
  11. looking good from my end, ive juist messaged jerrytom, hopefully all po his end, when hes read my wattsapp
