up until about a year ago, you could find solicitors online that would trace the cars for you, for a fee obviously, that seems to have stopped, but you may know a solicitor that is prepared to do it, im assuming a law change stopped it as it was a sudden halt of them advertising the service

Ray replied to escortmad79's topic in STOLEN OLD SKOOL FORDS
agreed, but i bet it was stupidly left, and its not far from tilbury docks, be on a container on the sea by now -
lol, thats what nick does, go to a show where he knows he will be the only one there so he can win the trophy
-
there was a firm on the BBC news about 2 weeks ago, that were complaining that the price if a container had risen from around £1500 to £10,000, if you can get one, which was ruining their business, again this was blamed more on the corona than Brexit, as so many containers were sat around parked up full at docks around the world, empty ones werent available
-
yep, the new spanish ones are total and utter junk, ive fitted 3 brand new ones, all had the same problem, overhauled original italians ones, and theyre fine, if you do a search about them youll see not many people have found them any good
-
if its the spanish one, which it looks to be and would explain the flat spot, then Free to toss in the bin is about right

i read not to put it in pre 1980 cars as the seals wont like it, yet ive had no issues and know people been using it for years in classics without issues, but i probably wouldnt put it in a daily tbh, im assuming the seals that didnt like it werent cleaned properly it does have a big downside to bleeding as well, as it airates very easily, so much so you can very easily airate the reservoir just topping it up, so you bleed it and 24 hours later the air has come to a head in parts of the system nick did have an issue with the level in the reservoir going down dramatically, but no leaks in the system at all, so again can only put that down to air in the fluid tbf the pair of us used it for its colour, my blue one has DOT 4 ATE racing fluid in because its blue lol, but thats not road legal now, they labeled the last of the tins as such then stopped making it, so thats now horrendous prices if you can find it
-
DOT 5 is silicon brake fluid, and its this that cannot be mixed with any other, and the system has to be totally cleaned prior to using, its main benefit is, if you spill it, or get a leak, it dosnt harm the paintwork, and reportedly you never have to change the fluid either, and at the price of it im pleased with that as well have read reports that some seals in older designed systems dont like it, but ive not had a problem as yet, other places say ideal for classics that dont get used much not readily available in shops though, usually need to buy it online being purple in colour, it goes very well in a purple car 😀

very hard to find a good genuine one now a days, expressed steel panels make a brand new steel one tho, or at least they did last time i looked lol, not cheap tho, but they do sell the skin separately as well

unless your well insulated and draft excluded, along the same lines as your house is, then your going to smash your electric, no ifs or buts, youll be heating the outside world and garage doors are like my roller shutter, virtually impossible to seal, as theyre not designed to be
-
i will bet you had them re trimmed at classic trim
-
can we assume it was Boris that took the jam out of your doughnut then lol

this is the 1300E series 1 colour and trim guide, bear in mind series 1 cars only came in the 3 colours
-
it exists, all 1300Es had beta cloth and in many colours, charcoal, blue, tan, orange (forget its proper name tbh) etc, and i believe it was an option on XL models as well my original E back in the day had blue beta, and there are a few still in existence with blue today, as well as the other colours but mk1 beta is a slightly different pattern to mk2 beta
-
hi Guys, im looking for dark blue mk1 escort beta cloth, either new on the roll or used covers if the beta is ok, for both front and rear, even if you dont have enough to do a full set, im still interested, as i think finding enough in one place to do a set will be impossible, anyone got anything stored in their lofts or garages needs to be mk1 beta, not mk2 thanks
-
its £1 sellers fees this weekend, so i listed a few bits lol, those seat belts among them
