  1. nope, very short one. gaz has answered on turbosport. incorrectly i should add. http://forums.turbosport.co.uk/showthread.php?t=115805
  2. so as not to hijack a good thread. no offence meant by this challenge, its educational (not that gaz can be offended ) ok here it is. out of interest gaz, use your 1/4mile knowledge of engine dynamics to answer this question correctly and win a prize. lights go green. driver 1 launches well, screams up the 1/4 and thinks he has won at 80mph terminal speed. driver 2 launches in a wheelspinning slide, gets control back and hammers it, he flashes past driver 1 at the line to win by a tenth of a sec at a terminal speed of 130mph, then carries on to 190mph for kicks. which has the most powerfull engine. your street cred is riding on this one gaz i will add that the speeds are from memmory but were around that mark .ie large terminal speed difference. oh... and its a true story, and was recorded / published in a mag.

  5. i think the xe is 150 std, 180 on carbs./ t/b's its always been up on the zetec in like for like tune.
  6. sorry to spoil the party here ,,,, but... if im not mistaken you have 1, tramp rods with bushes 2, turret shock axle mounts 3, no tramp mounts front or back ????????? check it before paying.
  7. the items that i listed recently appear to have gone on as worldwide. i knon i didnt offer that !! is that what happened or did you list as abroad? its ok small items via post but anything big is silly money.
  8. wheels are too big for me sorry, but then i was brought up on escorts in their day rather than modern ones. just a matter of what your memories are based on i guess ?
  9. rear discs will just lock up, you need a restrictor. basicaly you wont need them unless you want them. i do as i hate drums ! mk2 granny must be 2.8i thats i. and i cant find any....
  10. i dont know when it drops sorry, you see it in the sun/mirror adds now and then. dont bother with a/f allen keys as you wont ever use them. get a ball pien hamer not a clay hammer. unless you want a wood car ! you dont get a set of a/f spanners, but you can get these seperate. also get decent screwdrivers. if you aint got a car yet then just sit on the money. 75 quid for a box can be better spent when you have no tools, and if its a clark / stackon etc you will be dissapointed.
  11. that will be a daihatsu charade one from demonthieves then .....
  12. the toolstation just says basket is empty? not sure about the halfords set. for 75 you dont get a lot .from experiance i would get this when it drops to 99 on offer, which it does quite often.i have one of these and its very good.a good starter point. i say again tho ...it drops to 99 on offer! http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... ClickInfo#
  13. i bet you have a stretch armstrong as well ?
  14. ok heres some real world advice. roll cabs are a waste of money at your stage.. they are a nicety for when you already have tools, nevertheless , when you do look at them have a look at american pro stuff. from sealey. i have a ten draw top box 200 ish and its been good for years. tools. as has been said dont but rubbish, it will let you down again i agree with halfords pro.best you will get for the money and GOOD ENOUGH to do a job. i have the large socket set at the house(£150 but often reduced to £99 !) its very comprehensive and a good start point.i recomend it. i like britool or beta spanners but they cost (not me tho !!) i cant see your shop trolly ? have a look in a halfords superstore 1st mate.pro stuff.
  15. cardiff suppose you could mail me a takeaway
  16. sounds like a slipper. when its jacked up turn one wheel by hand. if its a slipper the other will also turn (tho it could be welded up). if you really want to be sure then drop the cover off.
  17. i was offered 50 notes for one i had, you know what i did ....
  18. great idea i will swap mine for the 1st elise offered.... any condition
  19. i think the 2.8 billy is an m6 thread (10mm spanner) it has a screwdriver slot to hold it while undoing. while the proper billy is an m10 17mm spanner possibly. with a hex hollow to hold onto it with allen key. i believe you can drill out a 2.8 unit to accept the larger size billy insert.
  20. I WOULD ALSO SAY REPAIR THEM.
  21. thats me past 50 posts
  22. or be vouched for ?
  23. wouldnt the first part of the post be more usefull?? i want to see the question rather than the last two words of the answer???
  24. to add my ten bob worth. one thing i dislike about modern mag articles is the lack of detailed technical info when describing a featured car.mostly the article will be about pointing you to a part supplier rather than telling you what part can be made to fit. I have noticed since taking out a cf subscription that some articles are little more than an extension of their main advertisers pages ??? ________ Zx14 vs hayabusa
  25. can someone confirm the date ? other thread says 28th and i thought this one was 21st. probably missed a bit somewhere, cheers.
