Another Stolen car to keep your eyes peeled for.
Hilux replied to Vista's topic in STOLEN OLD SKOOL FORDS
the trading of vehicle id's and logbooks alone, i.e. without the relevant vehicle has been illegal for many years but it is something that is hard to police. the real problem here is an unfortunate one, th old skool ford scene and indeed classic vehicles in general are now the victims of their own success, the huge interest in them has pushed prices up enormously and as I'm sure that we are all aware, where there is high value goods there will be theiving, and whilst stealing a whole garage or small warehouse full of parts in one hit would be of much benefit to the thief, transporting it all would be a problem, so unfortunately they go for the next best solution steal the bits that are still assembled and drive it away or trailer it. All anyone can do is make the job of moving the car as difficult as possible, remove wheels, buy a snap off steering wheel and remove the steering wheel from the car when not in use, chain the car with a high quality lock to something very solid (concrete a thick steel loop into the garage floor!) fit padlocks to your metal garage door, the removal of the locks by cutting them usually creates alot of noise on the door, make up your own engine electrics immobiliser, hide the switch, it may not be fool proof but it may buy you time to get yer pyjamas on and set the dog loose, block yer classic in with yer everyday car, again they could break into that aswell and move it but it would buy you time. lock em up fella's -

-
which roundabout was it steve? and dont even think of larging it up in the carpark next to argos where you guys skateboard in the evenings, the security will do the same as argos have cameras everywhere and will use them.

thanks alot guys for your kind words, i never knew i was that popular it was all prompted by something that i dont agree with, its not right that its all opened again in public so let sleeping dogs lie. as for selling the capri, nothing is cast in stone, i haven't made my mind up yet, i dont even know how much it would be worth anyway! this site absolutely takes over your life, which is bad from the wifes point of view and whilst anyone is a part of it, you want to be part of the scene with a great car, but now i wont be involved as much, a car that is gonna spend most of its life in the garage doing nothing is not much use and my thinking is why not let someone else enjoy it for what it is, as i wont be getting out in it much and i can get something else which i can enjoy on a more regular basis. if i decide to, i may test the water on ebay and see what happens or if someone on here is genuinely interested you can always contact me, as i said i'll keep poking my head round the door or get hold of smithy and he can pass any messages on, until such times then it stays with me. thanks for your support people, i've never had a problem with any of you, you are a great bunch of guys, the person(s) that i have a problem with know about it now, its all been aired and is now resolved by my resignation. carry on and make this site number 1
-
as some of you have noticed, cmpod is the new moderator in the chit chat room, this is because i have resigned as moderator of the site due to differences felt between myself and some members of the admin team. over the last few days i have thought long and hard about my decision and so it is one that i haven't taken lightly. i have made loads of mates through this site and i dont wish to lose contact with you guys, i'll still poke my head round the door every now and then and i may even turn up at some of the events, you never know? i'd like to say good luck to darren and the guys with running the site and making it the place it is and also good luck to cmpod on his new position as moderator, i'm sure he'll do his best and come up with new ideas for you guys to be involved with. not sure whether i'll keep the capri or just go back to bikes yet, but thats for me to decide over the winter, keep up the good work guys and have fun. micky

so, you can always clear this matter up yourself in a respectful manner, go an speak to him and say it must be a terrible, having to live a life spent sniffing and choking like that, how many years have you suffered with it? if he says, 15 years so far, then just offer your support and let him get on with it. but, if he says about 2 weeks coz i've got a cold, then shout at him "well f*cking stop it, you disgusting little oik, it's driving me mad" then punch him as hard as you can on the end of his snot filled nose and give him a life long infliction! that should sort that little matter out.

in the classic "we are family" they sing at the begining of one of the verses, "just let me staple the vicar" dunno what all thats about
-
doesn't really matter what carb you fit, if the the engine is standard then you can only get the same airflow through the head, have a big valve job, ported, gasflowed and cammed up and you change the gas flow characteristics and then you will notice the difference

chavs round really made an effort for halloween last night, £1 scary mask an dressed as a proper ghost in hoodies and baseball caps and going trick or treating thats for small kids, what do 16, 17 & 18yr olds get out of it get? a fun size pack of smarties, like thats gonna please em, i think that they must have been so upset that my neighbour didnt bung em a score for their huge efforts that they stole their pumpkin from the front doorstep then destroyed it round the corner. i know its only a small thing to steal but it was done for the small kids that were having a halloween get together round there, fooks me off! i just wish i'd have been at home to catch me, then i'd make the little fooker wear it
