  1. being a lorry driver i see it everyday, i just think its funny now, they are so impatient that some end up doing a spot of grasstracking when the trailer cuts a corner whilst they are trying to overtake
  2. theres a poat about this elsewhere on here, somewhere. "frosty" aka andy frost is a member of osf
  3. my speedo reads 57mph when im only doing 30! so i dont know how fast im going either
  4. when we were at the pod for rd 6 there was a guy with a non road legal grass track racer, no lights, no number plates it was a space framed, bike engined very damaged looking pug 205 shell didnt even have any glass in it just the traditional wire to stop stones, so i dont think theres an issue with road legal or not
  5. t'is very true and also right in that we learned to deal with mistakes and failures which is where todays generations are failing badly, we just molly coddle them and then sue othersfor outrageous amounts of money that they dont have. it's all wrong nowadays
  6. sadly i have to agree that the police just take the easy option and punish the motorist time and time again, the majority of the time they have absolutely no idea what the hell they re on about. take the last two years round here, a known criminal who has no driving license has owned and driven about 15 cars and several motorbikes, the large majority of which have no tax and i'm sure no MOT either, wont be insured coz he aint got a license and the feds have been give the reg numbers of most of them and told that he is still driving illegally and they know his address, you would think he has been caught and banged up by now wouldn't you? NO, he still drives everyday, if it was me they'd have a car waiting at the end of my drive with a ruler to measure the exact millimeter i cross the line onto a public road then have me pants down with unlimited fines and a prison sentence, crush the car then send me off for execution! their priorities are all wrong, lets pick on the motorist coz we dont have to do much except fill out a stops form, they even come to us! if we hide our high viz car in the bushes we can just step off the kerb and 'ave em! BINGO!!!! a new set of tyres for the traffic car, just like that. yet when you require the services of the police, comments like "they'll be long gone by now" give the impression of oh well its gone now just make a claim on yer insurance and you dont really need us for that so we'll be on our way as we've heard theres a car on the motorway with it's fog lights on, and its not foggy i do accept that police officers are enforcing a law that they didnt make, but they are the front line that the public see and meet, so they have to accept that the abuse and complaints about everything are initally going to be directed at them.
  7. mine'll be off road from wednesday
  8. fantastic, strong looking specimen yes the o/s/f wing stripe does appear to be upside down tho
  9. things are being sorted as we speak
  10. coz that pic was taken in his very small flat, he has now moved to some sort of mansion i believe

  12. yup user name "frosty" andy frost is a member of osf, stunning car, absolutey amazing and all street legal
  13. sounds very impressive matey, i hope it delivers all you say it will keep us updated after 29th at shakey (didnt you say you'll be there?). if it is capable of taking on our top runners in the osfdc next year then all the better next years osfdc will be, now who was it that said mick rogers should be in with us? oh yes lets get him involved i dont think we have a 10 sec car in yet do we
  14. nope still setup for sprints :wink:and thats the reason he's not so quick on the 1/4 mile, but round brands short circuit....... the car put a grin on me from ear to ear, has to be the fastest car i've been in
  15. mate, you say your car is nearing the end of a 2yr build, does that mean its untried and untested then? they are some big words you have been using for an untested car! 238bhp you say if i remember rightly, very impressive on paper but as has been said it depends on how its been setup, what sort of tyres you intend using, what its geared for. there are loads of different parameters that can be different but can make a massive difference to how fast the car is. cossie matts escort is also 6 linked, runs 45mm taperred throttle bodies on a n/a cossie engine which produces 265bhp if i remember that correctly, that is more than your 238bhp but on the quarter mile he can only put in a high 13 i think at best because of the way the car has been setup. although most people will have a very hard time beating his car on a short circuit! it all sounds impressive but big BHP doesn't mean everything, what is your torque figure? its more relevant to the acceleration of yer car than the BHP figure and above all can yer gearbox and axle take the constant hammering of hard launches?
  16. of course we are all beatable, we do it for fun, none of us are professional racers and none of us has unlimited budgets in fact i take great pride in getting into the thirteens at the strip for less than 2.3k which includes buying the car. if you wanna beat us then by all means join in the fun and beat us i'm sure you'll stir up some one wanting to join you at whatever time you can run. but talkin is just talkin actually doing it is a different matter also the back of andy harris's car has a sticker on the left side of the bootlid which says "NO NOS", i dont believe any of the harris cars run nos do they?
  17. well thats gotta do it for the women as the sexiest osf bloke how they keep their hands off him i'll never know

    DELETED

just getting the car ready to use and making it to the pod was highlight for me and having a car hesitating and generally playing up on the strip but still running a 14.1 and kicking the ass of a mitsubishi FTO at the same time
  22. good luck to you if you get it chris, i wasnt trying to be negative about it or anything, just making sure you were aware.
  23. its not that i hate 3dr cossies, i'd love one actually, but i do hate dangerous cars!
  24. dont want rot on an "a" pillar chris, in a heavy accident it would weaken the car considerably! if you've ever seen a wreck of a car thats been in a heavy front end accident you would see that the "a" pillars should remain fairly straight whilst pushing the roof up, with weak pillars they would probably snap and come towards you! i know we dont alwayts think about these things but would any of us put kids/family in a dangerous car? as gary says it needs replacing not covering up and made to look good. your call mate, but what other rot has it got that you cant see?
