Another update. Got a Sportex 3" exhaust & tubular manifold because the original system crumbled away. So removed the old system

That should have been the end of the story, job done, but as anybody who's fitted aftermarket exhausts knows, these things never quite fit right. The middle pipe was dragging along the ground & no matter what I did just wouldn't work. Anyway, other issues prevented me from working on the car. Then when I did think I got it right couldn't test drive as it didn't start! So one failed jump start & one replacement starter motor (thanks Calvin!) I was up & ready. Old Ford Autos have had it until today & sorted it, along with the bumpstop. They have also found a new problem... Turns out that the rear bearing keeps seeping oil out, but it was replaced recently, & removing the bearing is still tight, so they believe there is a hairline crack in the axle casing itself. It's not major, but replacing rear bearings is getting tedious & needs sorting.
