It lives.... again....!

Last week I had head gasket failure in my 1.8 Zetec. I'd bought a two litre only a week or so earlier from ebay.

 

After hours of toil, the 2 litre now sits in the van. And it started first time with no knocks or smokey exhausts. Just need to tune it as it's running a bit lean.

 

So, I'm happy happy happy!!

I've not driven her yet. I was aching a bit when I'd finished so I wanted to put my feet up. I may take her for a spin tonight and do some mapping. I'm hoping for 150+ bhp but to get that I'll have to get it booked in at a rolling road.

 

I'll take some pics as well for you. But should I take them before or after I fit my nice shiney Lotus steels...?

Yeah, just had to take everything off the two litre, as it came with standard manifolds, flywheel etc. Just swapped all the bits from the 1.8.

Just been for a spin. The exhaust manifold is blowing so I need to fit a new gasket. It needs mapping but it still feels good and accellerates well.

 

Now to fit that LSD...
