jeni8759 Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 I dont know what my alloys are They are 10" wide, 13's... Iv been told they are too wide for the front and ill probably prefer to have 7" wide ones instead, so i need to know what they are so i can buy some the same to match
orionmojo Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 i think minilites are 'proper' and superlites are copies? thats always been my view, i dunno why though
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Hhhmmmmm, I always thought Minilites went upto 6J, and anything wider were called Superlites There must be someone who knows
Stu_B Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Minilites are made by minilite, superlites are a copy (I think they're nicer) usually wider with more dish! Minilite Superlite http://www.minilite.co.uk/
Daggle Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Superlites are australian copies. minilites are the real deal.
tim Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 there should be a name pressed in2 the wheel, they dont look like minilites or super lites
Rick Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 look the same to me, its just brand names i guess, both look great though!! who built your mk1 (im assuming you didnt, forgive me if you did) looks ace silver
Pye Man Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Very nice motor Jeni. Always good to see a lady in a mk1 . Just to echo what the other lads have said. It should be stamped somewhere. Usually behind one of the spokes.
Guest HPEjadey1 Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 AM LOOKING FOR SOME 6X13 SUPERLITES TO BUY AND HAVE EM ON MOTOR BY NEXT MONDAY!!! FOR CHEAM!!! ANYONE KNOW WHERE CAN CALL UP? TRIED A FEW PLACES AND THEY CANT GET EM TILL 6 WEEKS TIME!!!!! ARGH!!!! HELP!!!!
escort21 Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Tried direct from the advertiser in Classic Ford..Performance wheels?
Arched Escy Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Superlites have chunkier spokes I think.Theres Compomotive MLs and Revolution Minators aswell!
Jay_harrier Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 I dont know what my alloys are They are 10" wide, 13's... Iv been told they are too wide for the front and ill probably prefer to have 7" wide ones instead, so i need to know what they are so i can buy some the same to match 10" wide - bet that's a hassle to park. Have you got any close ups, I just dug one of mine out of the garage roof - no clues other than a serial number stamped on the back
Alan G Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 The backs look like Compomotive ML's or maybe it's just the blue centre cap putting me off!
Richierich Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Minilites are made by minilite Really! No shit?nice one xflow! lol They look like compomotive minilites, are u sure they are 10" wide? Look like 8" at the most, fair enough if they are 10's
Arched Escy Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 The backs look like Compomotive ML's or maybe it's just the blue centre cap putting me off!good eye!
Fiesta Steve Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Very hard to tell from that photo as all the minilite copies look the same. They could well be Comp' ML's if they have blue centre caps. The superlite is the most popular copy, they look good with the polished rim.
Guest HPEjadey1 Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Tried direct from the advertiser in Classic Ford..Performance wheels? tried them and in retro theyre either mega money or not in stock for 6 weeks!!! ill see!!! thanx!!!
jeni8759 Posted April 30, 2007 Author Report Posted April 30, 2007 I dont think they are center caps, its part of what teh guy has painted as its stil there when you take the wheel off My friends got my wheels at the mo so ill ask him to check them for a brand or any clues Thank you
