The pics may not seem that bad but my tailgate is fooked, My boot lock mechanism is fooked and I cant keep my boot shut never mind lock it! And I think my boot floor is caved in!

I know most of you may not think it a great loss but at the end of the day she is my baby and I tokk a lot of pride in her. She was in a fair condition aswell and just having spet nearly a grand on me engine I just hope it isnt a write of :(

The boot lid and if you look at the bumper there is a big crease along the bottom and split towards the left hand side of the exhaust....

Dont worry fella, BigBoyBarry on eBay's got a couple of XR4i's he's breaking. Always got tailgates and back panels. I think Hadrian still make panels for the mk1 Sierra too.

I know we take the mickey out of the plastic fantastic brigade, but look on the positive side.........................

...................as you've spent a lot of cash on the engine, you can now go and stick it in a real car :mrgreen:

Seriously, bad luck old sport. I hope it works out OK

Now i'm hoping that you didnt insure with Tescoes because they where cheap, but because they gave you an agreed Value as your car qualifies as a classic because its over 20 years old..

Because if you have an agreed value i would be sitting at home , with a nice drink and a dirty great big smile .. of course that would be a non-alcholic drink as the pain killers for my neck means that i cant drink,

But through the pain i would be thinking ....

"hmmm car will get fixed as i have the agreed value and the repairs are less than that value .. and also i'll have a nice windfall when they pay out for my whiplash, thats gotta be around 2-3k in my pocket "

And if you havnt got an agreed value ... be prepared to show market value to the insurers.. because book price for that car is nothing .. you need to show evidence of "real" sale prices.

Also make sure you go to the doctors to get that neck checked.. many a person has sneezed and snapped thier neck a few days after an accident ..

If the insurance right the car off make sure you buy it back from them, as you'll easilly repair it with the whiplash money ..

Good luck with it
