caprixpack Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 slightly over the top moderating going on here why move and delete the posts about the xr2 just cos it aint your taste in car
lee_capri Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 well i feel my-self that sooner or later people like us will be turning to the early 90s fords as second drives or even to do-up as older fords pre 90s are getting dearer e.g xr4i not a lot of diff between that and 2.8icapri other than shape, and i do belive mk2 xr2s are becomeing rare, escort xr3 and xr3i mk3,are also their in the list, i my self would have no problum owning any-off these as you dont see them every-day just like the mk2 fiesta
caprixpack Posted July 6, 2007 Author Report Posted July 6, 2007 mk2 fiestas came out in 84-85 which is before the mk3 capri went out of production and the mk3 escort came out on a y plate i think so dont see why they aint classed as old skool
lee_capri Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 i see ware your comeing from with this i do agree with you like i said these are quite rare cars now and they did not have that much plastic on them only spoilers which added to the look il put my foot in it here it is capri with a triple xxx pack is that old skool after all plastic is not fantastic im not picking faults with any-xpack capri as i would love one my self :thumbsup:i my-self do not mind body mods its nice to see something diff or new
Admin Mk2Jo Posted July 6, 2007 Admin Report Posted July 6, 2007 It's not about the year of manufacture. The Mk2 Fester is not considered Old Skool in the eyes of the Owner (posse), Admin or Mods on this site

The Mk2 Fester is not considered Old Skool in the eyes of the Owner (posse), Admin or Mods on this site But why was it moved to Go And Stand In The Corner?Chit Chat or even Engines an Transmission would be better.
Admin Vista Posted July 6, 2007 Admin Report Posted July 6, 2007 Listen closely for I shall say zis only wance There is nothing wrong with the Mk2 Fez, indeed I've owned one myself and had great fun in it. However Old Skool Ford does not recognise it as Old Skool. No - one is saying it's not worthy of recognition, just that it's not Old Skool. Site policy was set long ago in a galaxy far far away (surrey I believe ) and them's the rules. There are plenty of other websites and forums that are less dedicated to specific models, but it's felt that we already have the right blend of cars on here and to include the mk2 Fez would start a ball rolling on a slippery slope, how long do you think it would be before we were asked "When will my Puma be Old skool?" The reason we are quick to step in is up until recently these "Is it old skool" threads came up very frequently and almost always ended up with people falling out over something that is ultimately quite trivial. So apologies to all who felt it was heavy handed but I did explain why to Flashcadillac and I hope we can agree that the "is it old skool" question has been asked too often.

But why did you move his engine question thread to GASITC aswell?
Retromotorsport Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 Its easy to sum up really ... You wouldnt go ontop the Focus Owners club forum and ask about a Model T's Flathead V8 ... or Go onto the MGB owners club forum and ask about the MG ZR.. or Go onto the Samurai 240Z site to ask about a Nissan 350. Its says on the tin whats inside ..
