antz Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 which would you have if you were upgrading engines?
X-pack-Glyn Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Pinto, no doubt... appart from the weight issue theres not a lot to be gained fron going all modern i dont think. the pinto can still knock out very sensible power figuires, its a more proven engine than any of the rest will ever be, as more people go multivalve, more and more tuning parts are out there for the pinto...
Admin Mk2Jo Posted August 29, 2006 Admin Report Posted August 29, 2006 Oh dear ...... can .... worms ..... opened For your information I have voted Pinto
Guest lagerlout Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 i would say pinto as i find them easier to work on.
BaileyMex Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 An even more powerfull All Steel Xflo on twin 48's
russ350lc Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 HORSES FOR COURSES. SERIOUS POWER OVER 200 BHP ITS GOT TO BE THE XE. RELIABLE POWER UPTO 180BHP PINTO
Tigran Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 I can't see how Pinto and XE can even be mentioned in the same argument? Sure if you said zetec Vs xe, but I'm afraid the pinto would get it's arse handed to it on weight, power, tunability. I love the lump of iron that is the pinto - but it's not going to win over a DOHC, in my opinion at least.
antz Posted August 29, 2006 Author Report Posted August 29, 2006 i frogot the zetec i did add xflow but it didnt come up. damn thing!

mk1super Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 How about something odd ball like dare i say it a bike engine bit off a bugger to fit but they are light and make good power and are tuneable as hell suzuki haybusa makes according to performace bikes magazine 157bhp 95.19lb-ft @ wheel and you can turbo them and they easily make 500bhp. Outside the box i know but worth a passing thought.
