Mk1 Escort Nurburgring lap record car....

As a few of you know,Kev16v and myself have been helping prepare a mk1 escort for Mick Wilkins,

Who is attempting to beat Zakspeeds Lap Record of the nurburgring,

(In a mk1 Escort)

Now this fella (Mick is in his 60`s)

But is a 3 time world champion Stock car racer and can this man peddle a car...

Kev16v has spent hours and some nights to get this car to the stage to where the car is now...its a standard mk1 shell unarched..

But it has all the right bits

Its been a long hard slog with so much time spent correcting and adjusting rebuilding and getting the car ready to drive out of Kev`s garage and yesterday Mick come to pick it up...

So here is a few pictures of the car that will bringing a lap recortd back to england

After driving the car out and a quick drive around the block its loaded up ready to take it home

Trying to get it sorted end of the month,But we have to get it agreed with Zakspeed @ they want there representatives there,

If you have been there,you will know that zakspeed have a motorhome @ the track,But need to have a time allocated so Mick with get an empty track to attempt the record....And all parties there.

But he will get track time in first over the weekend on the ring,

Then all going well,It a few bottles of bubbly and a big piss up
