lotusless Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 how can a big company like this keep getting away with it! good luck johnny i hope u get it sorted. why should we all cut + re-weld their shitey products on another note i cant get out of my front door today as a transporter full of rs2000's is blocking my gate
Rick Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 if you did it through paypal put inn a claim and get your money back it almost always goes in the buyers favour
GT_Jim Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 they sound like a right pain in the arse, i had an ashely system from ashley the manifold was totally off and the exhaust would have needed brackets to fit i rang them up to get it sent back and they had no problems with it. they even asked me where they went wrong with the manifold so i sent them an old one i had laying about and they paid the postage
MK2Ed Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 Ring them back and warn them that you are recording the conversation before you continue to speak. Tell them the above, i.e. Mk1 Mexicos have always needed the above back box from new and that you ordered a mk1 Mexico system and expect to receive that system. Tell them you want a new system sent out and that the courier is to collect the incorrectly supplied one at the same time. Then advise them that this is your last phonecall on the subject and that you will resort to the courts without any further communication to them. Above all stay calm (you're recording it after all and may want to use it as evidence) state exactly what is wrong, what you want them to do to put it right, and how long you're prepared to give them to action their error. Be sure and specify that it is their error. Correctamundo. They should be familiar with the line and know you are talking from a position of knowledge. Good luck
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 Terrible customer service. If I spoke to my customers like that I wouldn't have any left. If I send something out incorrectly, and it's my error or there's a fault with the garment I will send the correct item out, ask them to return the wrong item and refund their postage. If they've decided they don't want it then I'll refund them when they return it, and I don't refund the postage. If something was ordered incorrectly and they want to return it, they can do and I'll refund them or replace it. I generally wouldn't refund the postage on these. If I was PLR, in your case Johnny, I would have said 'no problem, we've sent you the crossflow not the rs. Send it back and I'll send a new one out, and I'll refund your postage'. I would never say 'We sell hundreds a week and you're the only one to complain'. EVER. What happened to the customer is always right?
johnny_h Posted September 19, 2007 Author Report Posted September 19, 2007 From: Peterlloyd2@aol.com Date: Wed, 19 Sep 2007 04:51:04 -0400 Subject: order To: ydnub2000@hotmail.com I have looked back at the paypal request we sent you after our telephone conversation and the paypal request does state 1600 x flow system and manifold at no point was i made aware during our conversation that you had an rs2000 shell As descussed this may have caused confusion on both our parts i have offered for you to reurn the back box and i will swap it for the one you require and send it to you foc. this is the best i can do as the parts were supplied correctly i dont no what more i can do regards Claire as i explained if i did supply a rs system to you the front pipe would be wrong !!! you should have made it clear you required a x flow front pipe but rs back box regards claire PETER LLOYD RALLYING LTD UNIT 25 , ST THEODORES WAY, BRYNMENYN IND EST, BRYNMENYN BRIDGEND CF32 9TZ TEL : 01656 724777 FAX : 01656 725125 Thanks for taking the time out to explain your confusion, Let me clear something up first. I didn't say the car had an RS2000 shell. I said I needed a MEXICO exhaust for a 1600 x-flow. The Mexico and RS2000 use the same shell (type 49) and same type and position of hangars. I understand that the front pipe would be wrong if I ordered an RS2000 system because the manifold is on the other side on a Pinto, which is why I asked for a Mexico system. The Mexico is an RS escort and uses the same shell as an RS2000, Twin Cam and RS1600. Here is the note I sent with the paypal payment which clearly states Mexico. Business Contact Information Customer Service Email: PETERLLOYD2@AOL.COM Customer Service Phone: +44 1656724777 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total Amount: -£150.00 GBP -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 17 Sep. 2007 Time: 12:02:29 BST Status: Completed -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: order Note: This is for a 1600 MK1 Mexico. Thanks. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I really don't want to make a big fuss but I must stand by guns and ask for you to send the correct back box by courier who can then take the incorrect box back. I don't feel I should have to send the incorrect box back at my own expense as it wasn't what I ordered. I look forward to your reply
Rick Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 cant argue with that really. they should know their onions if they sell thosands as previously stated i dont see the problem with just swapping them like you request, companies should do their utmost to satisfy the customer!
johnny_h Posted September 19, 2007 Author Report Posted September 19, 2007 Re: order From: Peterlloyd2@aol.com Sent: 19 September 2007 14:26:29 To: ydnub2000@hotmail.com no we are not prepered to do that you send it back and we will send the other out foc that is the best i can offer you we only supply that back box toall x flows but we will swap with no charge to send it out peter lloyd What do I do? I have been sent the wrong exhaust and I have to send it back at my own expense?

johnny_h Posted September 19, 2007 Author Report Posted September 19, 2007 tell them your going to write about your case on every ford forum on the internet I don't think that will win them over.
negri Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 talk to trading standards and tell PL that is what you are doing . dont see why you should have to arrange delivery of it .
Alan G Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 tell them your going to write about your case on every ford forum on the internet I don't think that will win them over. You'd be surprised... At the end of the day, who from here after reading this will use PLR? I certainly won't! I had the same problem with prep fab last year (same situation as yours - confusion on what parts they sent out), they were supposed to send a courier to pick up the 'confuzzled' sent out items but the courier never showed... Kept ringing and ringing and kept getting a different excuse everytime, I don't know if it was because I was over seas but in the end I just ended up selling it for the price I paid, it was easier!
SmokeEm Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 If it were me, I'd send them a link to this thread - Power to the customer!
Rick Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 If it were me, I'd send them a link to this thread - Power to the customer! definately, the ball is then in their court. it will be up to them to nrectify the situation or lose out on further business. all for the sake of a £10 courier charge
johnny_h Posted September 19, 2007 Author Report Posted September 19, 2007 I've spoken to Trading standards who have told me they are in breach of contract and what I need to do next. Watch this space!

Wessie Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 i'd never deal with PLR, after hearing how he bodged a roll cage in a 6r4 years ago for my m8's dad (who had an very serious accident in it) i wouldnt touch them with a barge pole, but hey thats just what i've heard
GJUK Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 "I've got your paypal order here Well in that case go through paypal - and log a complaint against them and get your money back and keep the system Also contact trading standards - make their life hell. Sound like right tossers.

Talk about taking his bat and ball home. He's having to pay for collection of the system, so why didn't he just say 'Ok, we can't agree what happened, but as a good will gesture I'll refund the postage cost for returning the exhaust'. If he's got a good courier, then he should have a contract with them so it shouldn't cost him much. It costs me £5 more to collect an item than it does to deliver it.
