Having been out to the OSF meet at route 38 then out again in the evening i got home, outside the garage,open the doors then get back in the car and thats it The fuel pump has past away so i had to drive the car in on the starter as its up hill into the garage,so did any one get closer than 25 feet ???

DarrenM Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 We pulled up in my mates Mk3 Escort years ago now, pulled in his garage and he switched it off and said "that sounded funny, I think the cambelt may have snapped!". It had, so a new belt was fitted and was fine! How lucky was that?
Anglia68 Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 A couple of years ago I had to drive upto Birmingham airport and pick up some goods then drive down to Swanley in Kent and deliver a pallet of goods then pop over to Heathrow to collect even more goods then drive up to Pudsey in Leeds to deliver the lot and then back home to Halesowen in the West Midlands.Phew!!! Just as I turned onto my drive there was an almighty loud bang and the drivers side front of the Transit dropped to the floor as the bottom ball joint had sheared.I had to abandon it where it was,half on my drive,arse end in the road until I could get it repaired the following morning,talk about lucky.

flyingbanana Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 Just as I turned onto my drive there was an almighty loud bang and the drivers side front of the Transit dropped to the floor as the bottom ball joint had sheared. i had the same, my ball joint broke on my mini...when i was driving at 40mph......happened after i had to stop quickly has some decided at the last moment he wanted to go right at the roundabout instead of going straight which he was doing.....luckily there was a garage 50 steps away so i was able to borrow a jack to pull the car out from the 2nd lane.....police nearly towed it away...luckily managed to get back in time with the new parts to fix it

Ahhh babe at least you had me and the XR4x4 there to drag you back up the road to help you get up the drive I went to Ford Fair 2005 and misfired all the way up and back in the Capri. Bought RAC cover before I left as I didn't trust her. Got to Silverstone and back then the bloody thing blew up outside my house. I'm guessing she was not going on the back of a truck
