Toby Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 proberly a big wall cos of fireforce? Cos of flippin' Health and Safety. Going to wrap all the drivers in cotton wool an impose a speed limit - probably of 0 mph as thats the safest speed. Where have the risks gone in life? They recon is destroying the next generation of kids and making them less adventurous. I would have thought watching from the fast end was more dangerous Uh Oh thats fuct it for everyone. Sorry
Posse Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 They probably have taken it down so if it rains everyone piles into the cafe and buys a bacon roll for £4.50 No really what is there reason?

steve dray Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 ...........................RIP THE BARN.......................... Thats another piece of character gone from the pod
deluxemk1 Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 I was beginning to wonder what was going on with all that.We were laying the barn to rest at the main event in may. When the crew got there for the finals, people were still in there .I was quite surprised as I thought it was going to be taken down before the next FIA public event. We raced at the Mopar Euronationals as well and it was still up.I was hoping they had forgoton the idea or been talked out of it.Gutted to see those pics Im at the startline if we race ,but as a spectator its the best place to see drag racing, it gives you the feel of the power the cars produce most people will never get that close to a top fuel burnout again I guess. The barn will be missed by racers and fans alike.
X FLOW EDDY Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 R.I.P the barn That has been there since the place was built me thinks. Have had the full force of the jet car in there a few times

RUSTYPUP Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 Thats been on the cards for ages. We should have gone and chained ourselves to it eco-warrior style!!

over_head_cam Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 If I want to have bits of burned rubber and fumes and the occasional nut and bolt thrown at me it should be MY choice. It's part of the atmosphere of it all.
Nettles Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 I have some great memories from all the years of standing under that roof. I was hoping that they had forgotten to tear it down. It’s a sad day. R.I.P. the barn.
Fiesta Steve Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 If I want to have bits of burned rubber and fumes and the occasional nut and bolt thrown at me it should be MY choice. It's part of the atmosphere of it all. If you want nuts in ya face who are we to stop you R.I.P the barn
TomB Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 I believe there is a big wall going up and i heard that, the part where all the food stands are is going to have a roof...only what i heard. H&S said that no one should be standing behind the cars while racing. I did hear that the whole roof from the barn was sold to a farmer too. R.I.P the barn!!!
